Synopsis

Jim Jefferies, an edgy, foul-mouthed stand-up comedian from Australia, in his mid-30s and living in LA, is endeavoring to make his life and career more “legit,” only to find it a difficult, uncomfortable uphill struggle every step of the way. Jim is encouraged in his quest by Steve, his neurotic best friend and roommate, a cyber-law library salesman who struggles to stay on his feet in the wake of a divorce, and Steve’s brother Billy, who suffers from advanced staged Muscular Dystrophy and is confined to a wheelchair.

CrawlerChunky In truth, there is barely enough story here to make a film.
Keeley Coleman The thing I enjoyed most about the film is the fact that it doesn't shy away from being a super-sized-cliche;
Frances Chung Through painfully honest and emotional moments, the movie becomes irresistibly relatable
Haven Kaycee It is encouraging that the film ends so strongly.Otherwise, it wouldn't have been a particularly memorable film
jbond5492 I just watched my last episode of Legit. This series started out funny but has sunk to become unbearable. At what point does running over someone's beloved house cat multiple times and then tossed in the dumpster in front of a child become funny? The writers on this show have some serious issues and should seek professional help. This writing is by someone who has obviously has never known the joy and love a pet can bring to a home. This episode perpetuates a sick belief that somehow violence against an animal can be comical. The writing has a stink very similar to the smell of the writing on Wilfred, which I also liked at first but was forced to stop watching for the same reason. To say nothing against the offensive writing on this show would be morally and ethically wrong on my part. This show should be avoided at all costs. Too bad for the non cat hating crew and the fine actors on this cast. I wonder what any of them thought about this script, I can think of an honored place next to my toilet.
Adriaan van der Veen Jim Jeffries is awesome, and is making this show a true hit. The first episode is already funny, but I was a little hesitant about how they were planning out how to work with the other two characters, but that works brilliantly. Very funny, very nice to watch, it is something new, not more of the same. I hope this will catch on quickly, because I do not want to see this series fail. I do not know why you need ten lines, but OK. I will accept that this is necessary. If you want to know what my taste in shows is, then look below. It will be a summation of the shows I like. Just to know where to put my opinion.Dexter Breaking Bad Mad Men Boardwalk Empire Suits The Walking dead House of Lies Workaholics HIMYM The Big Bang theory Two and a half men Happy Endings
Mick S I made a point of watching Jim Jefferies stand-up before watching the first episode of 'legit' and you can see how he has weaved his vulgar/offensive jokes into the show. Unfortunately, this will turn a LOT of viewers off it. Make sure the kids don't sneak into the room while your watching because you might have lots to explain to them. But as an adult comedy show it is refreshingly funny. Jim's character is unbelievably offensive, but not in a nasty way. He will say and do whatever fun ideas pop into his head, however his brain isn't wired for conversations with Mr and Mrs average American. DJ Quols does a brilliant job as a quadriplegic confined to a wheelchair who just wants to 'live'... I must admit I'm not a fan of his stand-up because it relies on shocking the audience rather than intelligent wit.
jfpoitras This is not worth your time. I can't even imagine why this is classified as comedy. The actors are horrible, aside from DJ Quells who does OK like always. But the script is what makes this series even more difficult to like. Combined together, the bad acting and the poorly delivered lines only makes you wonder how these people can really get paid for doing this. I'm really just filling up lines here, because IMDb requires 10 lines for a review. I don't think I've written many reviews, only when the show/movie is really bad, or really good. This one is about a really bad show to which I wished was better reviewed to have avoided wasting my time on the first 2 episodes.Do yourself a favour, and skip this show, it won't be on TV for long anyway.
