Synopsis

Pat Baker is a small town sheriff. His son, Kurt, is a deranged young man with a dark secret. Sheriff Baker's worst nightmare comes true when Kurt escapes from a psychiatric hospital where he was locked away for the brutal murder of his mother thirteen years earlier. Gary, a hospital security guard, sets out into the woods to stop him, but soon finds himself relentlessly hunted by the deranged psychopath intent on killing him and anyone who crosses his path. Sheriff Baker launches an intense search to find his son, only to discover that his daughter, Sara, and her friends are camping in the same woods where Kurt has escaped. Kurt's psychosis escalates, as does his vengeful killing spree, culminating in a terrifying, climactic confrontation with Kurt, the sheriff and his family.

Odelecol Pretty good movie overall. First half was nothing special but it got better as it went along.
TrueHello Fun premise, good actors, bad writing. This film seemed to have potential at the beginning but it quickly devolves into a trite action film. Ultimately it's very boring.
Mathilde the Guild Although I seem to have had higher expectations than I thought, the movie is super entertaining.
Juana what a terribly boring film. I'm sorry but this is absolutely not deserving of best picture and will be forgotten quickly. Entertaining and engaging cinema? No. Nothing performances with flat faces and mistaking silence for subtlety.
jeffeastwood2000-628-193804 This film takes inspiration from many classic films in the psycho killer genre, but its narrative avoids clichés and has a driving force all its own.Frayed is a very interesting psychological horror film. Yes, the acting isn't always that stellar sometimes but it has a lot going for it including several twists and some very good gore scenes. The beginning murder is one of the most graphic I've seen in a movie. It will disturb you, yet you will find yourself wanting to go back and re-watch the movie, wondering what clues you might have missed. The last scene is definitely the most disturbing one of the film (even more than the bloodbath at the beginning).Highly recommended.
kaysild This movie was good I don't know what everyone's problem is. I think because it was more in depth and had more of a story and plot to it and those who didn't like it were mad because they are confused to actually what happened. They just assumed it was some plot less horror flick with nude chicks and lots of blood and guts. Nt the case, they were plenty of clues from the very opening scene. Actually they are a couple clues in that first scene if you really pay attention. They really put it in the details, so don't assume there's no thought out into it, because there is a lot if details and thought out in to this film that you really have to pay attention closely to every scene! Otherwise you will be very confused and aggravated Ike the other idiots. I recommend it, if you like to keep guessing and watch a movie where even when you've guessed some of it there's no way you got it all! I guessed what was happening but I couldn't place how it was occurring or who even tho I had a close idea of who was really behind it I was still a bit confused how it fit together til the end. Very good movie I was impressed. You should give it a chance, and if you don't get it rematch the last 15 minutes before reading spoilers, I bet you'll get it then!
Ben Larson I wondered just how much gore and blood this film would contain after I watched the opening where a woman gets beaten in the face with a baseball bat. Over and over and over, the hitting continued past what I would consider dead. Is this film going to be "over the top"? No problem there. It was more suspense than actual blood and gore. It was a chase to catch an escaped mental patient before he could kill the Sheriff's daughter. For a low budget film made with inexperienced actors, it was really good. Kept you guessing to the very end, and beyond. What really did happen?
doughnutboy20 Well, when I realised the movie was coming out today, I had to write a review.Movies like this remind me why I still buy/watch modern horror films, it was great. Compared to some of the other rubbish coming out today, this film is practically Oscar winning. When I put this movie on earlier this year, i'd not heard really anything about it, apart from it was a horror film. I was pretty much under the impression that it would be a crappy, low budget movie, that would have me asleep in under 10 minutes. But apart from it being slightly under budget, I couldn't have been more wrong. The first 10 minutes you will either love or hate (well when I say love or hate, I mean, will think is essential to the film or not). In fact, the first 10 minutes could be why this film comes with the warning 'WARNING: THIS MOVIE CONTAINS ONE OF THE MOST BRUTALLY GRAPHIC SCENES EVER DEPICTED ON FILM'. If it is I would understand, but i'm pretty sure there are more violent films/scenes out there. Saying that it is pretty brutal, but it's only because the person doing it is a kid.The next hour or so plays out a bit like a Halloween film, guy in a mask escapes from a nuthouse and kills everyone in his way. This isn't a bad thing, but might be why the film hasn't done as well as it could have. Anyway, the acting is good, the story is strong, there's lots of thrills and kills and best of all, it's as gory as hell. The last 10 to 15 minutes will either be a great twist, a disappointment, or a bit obvious. For me it was a bit obvious, but I still enjoyed the film as a whole.I highly recommend any true horror fan watches this film!
