Claysaba Excellent, Without a doubt!!
KnotStronger This is a must-see and one of the best documentaries - and films - of this year.
Philippa All of these films share one commonality, that being a kind of emotional center that humanizes a cast of monsters.
adaytobreakthehorizon I've never been a big fan of Lucky McKee, even though I've only seen a few of his films. He comes of to me as an utterly pretentious, man-tool feminist. And this mess of a "film" is no exception. There's nothing funny or clever here. We're presented with a cast completely consisting of truly fathomable characters. We're also expected to overlook ridiculous things like the idea that magic, glowing rocks bring a group of air-headed cheerleaders back to life with an inexplicable (and unexplained) taste for blood. So we have a bunch of surprisingly average looking girls (who's acting skills aren't much better) wandering around, glowing like light-brites as they suck the blood out of jocks with the wretched power of CGI. Dismal stuff with no redeeming values. Please spare yourself, and don't give this guy any more of your money. Horror cannot be achieved through metaphorical, feminist crap like this.
hjames-97822 I won't waste time here. The only thing missing is an appearance from the ghost of Vincent Price. This is a remake of a 2001 film the producers sent straight to video because they couldn't get it distributed. Better to have left it mummified.Film school 101 effects. Awful dialog. All of the girls (especially) are way, way, way too old to be portraying high school cheerleaders. In short, it's dreadful. It almost seems they stopped by the nearest Hooters style restaurant, loaded up a van of the servers and decided to make a movie. Save yourselves from this.
reallyevilboy This movie, the title, the front image, the synopsis, the whole American cheerleader thing, not something I'd jump into with enthusiasm. But I read the reviews here, each one saying they were surprised by the movie. They're right, this is a great movie. It's a little fun, it's a little lighthearted. The plot isn't bad in fact it develops quite well with hidden little surprises. It's not a perfect movie but compared to many of the other recent horror movies out there it's enjoyable. It's different and in the horror world that can be enough.
kdunlap24 Definitely not the suck fest I was expecting. I Liked the characters I was supposed to and disliked the ones I was supposed to. Plenty of plot holes and the dialog was "odd" at times, but I laughed more at the jokes and less at the movie. The pleasant surprise was there was not a ton of nudity and even more surprising was the lack of cussing. There was of course both, but 5% of what I expected. Someone tell Seth Rogan is can be done!I believe there is going to be at least one sequel and I will definitely be renting it as well.Spoiler Not crazy about the ending.Having it a tad happier would have been better.
