Limerculer A waste of 90 minutes of my life
Chirphymium It's entirely possible that sending the audience out feeling lousy was intentional
TrueHello Fun premise, good actors, bad writing. This film seemed to have potential at the beginning but it quickly devolves into a trite action film. Ultimately it's very boring.
Gutsycurene Fanciful, disturbing, and wildly original, it announces the arrival of a fresh, bold voice in American cinema.
Dhanu Kemathas This is another ''Bonnie & Clyde'' ride which features an ensemble cast that includes Tyrese Gibson, Meagan Good and The Game in the lead roles, while Larenz Tate and Henry Hunter Hall play other pivotal roles. The film has a simple and interesting story with a strong screenplay, but it did not deliver anything new. It is a typical action-thriller that people have seen before (which might be a strong reason for why the film is weak).Tyrese Gibson who earlier had acted in Baby Boy, 2 Fast 2 Furious and Four Brothers has showed another side of his acting skills. His body language, style and his mastermind make his role as O2 to be a wonderful father and an unstoppable action hero who can get near on anybody.Meagan Good who is sexy and beautiful as usual has done a great job and improved her acting skills from her previous films Roll Bounce and Stomp The Yard. Both Gibson and Good had a great chemistry throughout the movie. The Game who made his acting debut with this film was faithful to his role as ''Big Meat'', who is the main antagonist in the film. Larenz Tate who played ''Lucky'' and Henry Hunter Hall who played Gibson's son ''Junior'' were at their best.Otherwise this is a film which has much swag, raw Hip-Hop music, good comedy scenes and a lot of action-packed and sentimental scenes. It tells the story of a father who does everything he can to keep a promise he made for his son. It has everything that makes the audience to be filled with great entertainment. It does not disappoint at all.Verdict: A Promise Kept!
PersianPlaya408 Sure Curtis Halls film about an ex-convict getting tangled up with a gang after his car is hijacked is a bit far-fetched, not exactly realistic, but so what, its a movie, and a action movie to be exact. I don't think this is nearly as bad as the rating shows, i enjoyed, thought it was effective for what it was and that Tyrese was somewhat less annoying here. I liked Larenz tate and Meagan Good a lot in their roles. I thought The Game did well as the antagonist as well, and now im eager to see how he did in Street Kings. From a cinematic point of view, its nothing special, however Curtis Hall did a decent enough job writing and directing this urban drama.IMDb Rating: 5.5. MY Rating: 8/10
asim34522-1 waist deep was a better movie than I expected, it had a good story of an ex-convict trying to be good but when his son gets kidnapped he has to find him by any means. Two things wrong with this movie though, one: it had way too much bad language it was like between every line there was a swear word being said. Second: it had stupid names like the girl was called Coco, the father was O2, his brother was Lucky and the bad guy in the movie was called Big Meat and some rich bad guy was called P-Money. Weird names and too much swearing but good movie. It is also a really moving story with a twist at the end of the movie. My rating for this movie is 8/10.
escobar0813 Was expecting a whole lot more from Waist Deep. It had Larenz Tate famous for O-Dog in Menace II Society plus hip hop artist the Game. The movie was super soft. Never played real. Can't blame the actors on this one. I made the mistake of watching the bonus footage with the director and producer talking about the movie. They had no idea what made a real gangster movie. Comparing cars to characters was insane. Been better if they paid more attention to what was happening in the movie then worrying about the car a certain character drove. The whole movie was silly. To bad that Larenz Tate and Game had to be involved. This was watching a director who should be doing after school specials putting out a gangster movie. What nailed the 5 for the movie was the actors.
