Karry Best movie of this year hands down!
Laikals The greatest movie ever made..!
BroadcastChic Excellent, a Must See
Aedonerre I gave this film a 9 out of 10, because it was exactly what I expected it to be.
SnoopyStyle Robin (Simon Phillips) proposes to Dana (Maya Grant) outside a nightclub. Michael (Sean Brosnan) hooks up with new girl Carrie (Bianca Bree/Bianca Brigitte VanDamme). Along with Vincent (Jazz Lintott), the five friends see something strange in the sky. The next day, the networks and power are out. Rumors are spreading and then a spaceship descends on the city. Panic and mayhem ensue. This is a lower budget British sci-fi B-movie. The acting is mostly film school level. It's nothing egregious and the famous kids don't embarrass themselves. Jean-Claude Van Damme does a limited cameo which is more distracting than compelling. The directing by Dominic Burns is weak but the writing is much worst. He tries a mashup of styles. It's a sci-fi movie that can suddenly turn into a martial arts movie out of the blue. It's J.J. Abrams' flare-o-rama plus some 360 camera work. There are alien ships but no alien makeup. It's a dull start that shows a little bit of promise and then slides into a mess.
Fortune_Sparkles This is a low budget Scifi movie. I don't know why everyone is being so hard on it. I am a Scifi buff and I found it to be entertaining. I think that is because I didn't expect a low budget "B" movie to be a multimillion dollar production. Yes, the start is slow and there are wholes in the script. I found the special effects to be cheesy / cheap and the music didn't match the movie. However, I didn't think the acting was all that bad. Academy award winning it is not. Yes, someone was trying way to hard to make it look like they had more money than they did. And missed the class that less can be more. But,as long as you watch it with the right mind set you won't be disappointed. All in all for a low budget Scifi flick not that bad.
Keith Erwin (keitherwin) If you really have nothing else to watch or do, then go ahead and watch this movie. Make sure to just watch it on Netflix or rent it or something, though, as the best thing about the movie is Maya Grant's breasts...It opens with some kind of nightclub scene and some flashes of something that's supposed to be foreshadowing? But really it just confused me. It's slow to get started. There's way too much lens flare. I was actually pretty surprised by the characters that died throughout the movie, caught me kind of off guard. The ending was just really confusing. I would have liked some more clarification there. I only understood part of it. I wish Jean-Claude would have died in a cooler way. He really only makes a cameo and I'm kind of sad he didn't get to contribute more to the film. The acting is really not the worst acting I've ever seen, and it didn't really bother me much for most of the movie; there were the other things above that bothered me much more.So if I had to choose between watching paint dry and watching this movie, I would watch this movie.
Peter Pluymers The making and showing of movies like "Alien Uprising" should be prohibited by law !! This was just terrible. "Alien Uprising" will go down in history as one of the most annoying and meaningless movies ever. And don't forget to mention the third-rate performances here. What's Jean-Claude van Damme doing in such an awful C-movie with probably no budget. I sincerely hope that they have returned the entrance fee of those who did the effort to go and watch it in the theater ! It really looked like a project of a student at the film school. I bet he failed his test with this anyway. The SF part is greatly limited and the used effects look like a Star Trek episodes from the 70's. The first half hour we look at the social life of some young people in a club and in the bedrooms where they are nagging and whining endlessly about nothing. Next there is a general power failure across the UK and the next evening there is a peculiar light shining and a reverse boiler appears floating in the sky.The rest of the movie is so badly acted and exaggerated. At a certain point there's a supposedly mass hysteria at a supermarket. The new release of the Playstation was a million times worse than this. JCVD explodes after being hit by a green beam ... very original. And Area 51 is also brought up. We can also admire some corny-looking UFO 's with tentacles flying around. The only positive thing I could come up with was the fight between Brosnan and an infiltrated alien.Good advice: do not bother to watch this. It's a complete waste of time and energy.More reviews at http://opinion-as-a-moviefreak.blogspot.be/
