Clevercell Very disappointing...
BelSports This is a coming of age storyline that you've seen in one form or another for decades. It takes a truly unique voice to make yet another one worth watching.
Rosie Searle It's the kind of movie you'll want to see a second time with someone who hasn't seen it yet, to remember what it was like to watch it for the first time.
Deanna There are moments in this movie where the great movie it could've been peek out... They're fleeting, here, but they're worth savoring, and they happen often enough to make it worth your while.
Michael O'Keefe The original starring Charlie Sheen was very good. THE SECOND ARRIVAL is not so good. Science fiction is someone's dreams and fantasies...if some chance of believability exist the better. This sequel seems to have nothing but some carried over special effects from the original amped a bit. Don't even look for any logic. After Zane Ziminski is found dead of a heart attack in Alaska, his step brother Jack(Patrick Muldoon), a computer expert and pretty sharp hacker, receives an envelope from his brother with details of an alien invasion. Five other people received the same info and plan to join and do something about it. The earth is on target of dying due to an accelerated global warning. By this time how many aliens have already set up business in disguise? Others in the cast: Jane Sibbett, Michael Sarrazin, Catherine Blythe and Michael Scherer.
pdlvr The Second Arrival was a decent movie. I have not yet seen the original movie so I have no basis for comparison. I also saw it on television and it seems they cut out the nudity scene or else I was too distracted making dinner. It was worth the two hours it took to watch, but I would never buy it. The characters are believable enough and the movie did keep me on my toes. The whole plot is a very trite, Invasion of the Body Snatchers type thing, but on the whole it was okay. The alien script looked WAY too much like Klingon and gave The Second Arrival a rather Star Trekkish feel which was completely unnecessary. Yes, they are aliens. No, not all alien script looks like Klingon. I don't recommend it unless it is on television.
Movie Nuttball The Arrival II in My honest opinion is just a ok sequel. I was much more pleased with the original as it didn't have any sex or any think like that plus it showed the great looking aliens a lot more and views of the sky.Don't get Me wrong here the movie is not boring or dull its just that I think that the original one is the better of the two but if you like the Arrival and haven't seen the sequel then check it out and see what you think!
bas rutten Contains some spoilersHave you ever seen a truly stupid movie? Well, if you haven't, go watch this one (and "Battlefield Earth"). I hardly know where to begin when describing this amateurish piece of nonsense, but I'll try anyway: the action scenes in this movie are by far the most poorly executed ones I've ever seen. There is no kind of tension whatsoever, the camera movement could have been done better by a 5-year old kid and everything feels very sluggish. The plot consists mainly of a terribly cliche romance, and some vague mumblings about alien conspiracies. Nobody ever takes the trouble to explain anything, and the villains get at least ten opportunities to dispose of the heroes but for some inexplicable reason they never do. For some reason, the male hero seems to know EVERYTHING about alien technology simply by looking at it, and the reporter isn't even surprised when tells her this. To top it all off, the dialogue is so bad that it almost made me smash my head against the wall. Most stupid leap in logic: while the heroes run away from the vacuum device in the power plant, all the plant's employees are seen actually running TOWARDS it seconds before the entire plant is destroyed. Yeah right. Only watch this movie with some friends and lots of beer, and the sheer awfulness of it might entertain you. Otherwise, being sucked into a vacuum might me more fun.
