Maybe the movie only "deserves" a 6 out of 10, but our main actors and their interplay alone is worth that extra point I gave it. It really feels like those two know each other their whole life, but we knew how good both are acting wise. The movie is also not really hiding the fact that it knows that we know where it is heading. We shall have fun on the ride there though.And we can have fun, if we let ourselves. It's easy like that, just enjoy the two and some odd jokes along the way (let's call a repeated joke video chat "bombing", taken from photo bombing someone of course). Characters are very aware of what they are doing and in what movie they are in (villains are villains you see). Just enjoy if for what it is :o)

An honest to goodness fun British comedy. Brosnan and Thomson are very funny with great backup from Timothy Spall and Celia Imrey. Great to see a film with a story, albeit simple, but with well crafted script. There are several scenes mimicking some great movies and the tongue in cheek way the whole story is put together brings a lot of smiles and some very funny laugh out loud moments. There are a lot of films currently available that are nowhere near as funny as this one, although critics ratings often seem to describe them otherwise. Haven'T seen any film critic reviews for this film, but I am sure it would not fit with the stuffy and serious ilk that befits the modern critics seem to think we may like.

Love Punch is a rom com that is neither romantic nor funny.In spite of it's line up of quality British actors the result is a silly farce with no sexual chemistry between the lead actors and literally no funny lines whatsoever.The premise seems to be that it is intrinsically hilarious to watch people in their 60s do things that people in their 30s do better - nope!Such a shame more time and money wasn't spent developing the script to beef up the characters and build their motivations to take the step of attempting a robbery that no one in their right mind would try. One might argue that it's a light hearted film so you just have to accept that the plot is flimsy, but this overlooks the fact that to sympathise with the characters you have to believe them to be justified - call me uncharitable but, whilst it's sad if a privileged divorcée whose kids have grown up and who watches daytime t.v all day, loses her pension and has only her nice house her family and her health and looks to console her, it doesn't really tear me up inside. (perhaps I shouldn't have watched it off the back of 'Twelve Years a Slave')Anyway, to qualify as lighthearted it needs to have jokes and comedy timing, not just a musical montage every five minutes cut to the kind of track you can buy the rights to on a budget.Where's Richard Curtis when you need him?

Grumphy old couples arguing at each other. Poor soundtrack. Poor photography. Lack of script constance. Few not realistic stunt scenes since the actors are very old. ANNOYING COMMUNIST REFERENCES. BORING. Run away. What the hell is wrong with this people. If you are a communist go live in Russia, Cuba, Venezuela. Stop pretending you don't like good wine, champagne and all the good stuff.
