Chirphymium It's entirely possible that sending the audience out feeling lousy was intentional
Plustown A lot of perfectly good film show their cards early, establish a unique premise and let the audience explore a topic at a leisurely pace, without much in terms of surprise. this film is not one of those films.
AshUnow This is a small, humorous movie in some ways, but it has a huge heart. What a nice experience.
Juana what a terribly boring film. I'm sorry but this is absolutely not deserving of best picture and will be forgotten quickly. Entertaining and engaging cinema? No. Nothing performances with flat faces and mistaking silence for subtlety.
niallsheridan I utterly dislike Brendan Ó Carroll's comedy which is being rude and foul mouthed Mrs Brown this is just same as the unfunny and stupid television series I really don't see how why Mrs Brown's Boys D' Movie was released Keith Lemon The Film is a better character comedy film should have released Bridget And Eamon film instead
O2D If you have only seen the second version of the show, this movie is a bit confusing. For some reason they decided to go with things from the first series like Agnes having six kids and owning a vegetable stand. They also say that ninjas are from China and I'm pretty sure they weren't joking. The entire plot is non-sense.There's a scene where she eats breakfast at a diner. No matter which version of the show you go with, Agnes Brown would never go out for breakfast. The only good change is that Grandad has a much bigger part.He has more lines in this movie than he did in the entire series and he's really funny. For some reason they decided to use the fake bloopers in the movie which just doesn't make any sense, but it makes more sense than having Agnes push a pram around. The best part was seeing Brendan O'Carroll do a different character even though that character just sounded like Agnes with a lisp.Changing the subtitles to Russian when the Russians started speaking English was funny but this movie put too much emphasis on the serious stuff. While it's not a complete disappointment, it is more proof that TV shows should not be made into movies.
Andrew Fletcher I'll be honest when I say that I've never been a massive fan of Mrs Brown's Boys. That includes the television series & live shows, but that did not determine my rating for the film adaptation. I do respect and appreciate why people would enjoy the series though, it simply isn't my type of humour.Saying that, as a film fan, I feel insulted when people decide to cash-in on a successful formula to bring something to the big screen. Fans of the show would obviously attend a viewing, but the film adaptation is everything that the series isn't. The two couldn't be further apart on the spectrum from one another. The film has very little structure and constantly jumps from one scene to the next. The writing seems rather lacklustre and there are more awkward silences than laugh-out-loud moments. It's clear that the writers have attempted to create a storyline structure to accommodate the demands of a feature length film, but it unfortunately hasn't worked in my opinion. At 70 minutes, the entire feature seems rushed and forced. Horrible gag after horrible gag, it falls short of the expectations of its fans. I'm not one of those individuals, like I've stated, but if you haven't had the opportunity to watch this but want too, please, for your own sake and sanity, don't.
Pigmy Steak I really looked forward to seeing this. I love the TV show. Put simply though, like so many great television comedies, it just doesn't work in a full length movie. Of course there are funny (or at least mildly amusing) moments, but just not enough of them to carry the rather absurd plot. The solicitor's character and affliction had rich comedic potential, but was wasted in style. Hopefully this disappointing effort will not damage the reputation of what is a great success story. If you get bored like I did, at least the last line gets the biggest laugh of the whole thing (at least it did when I was there). However, that says more about the quality of what has gone before than it does about that moment.Very poor.
