SnoopyStyle Beth (Kristen Bell) is a hard working curator. She's in danger of ending up alone when she has to go to Rome to attend her sister Joan's (Alexis Dziena) wedding. She falls for the best man Nick (Josh Duhamel) but she sees him kissing another girl. She picks four coins and a poker chip from the famed Fountain of Love out of spite, and is quickly followed by four men (Danny DeVito, Will Arnett, Jon Heder, Dax Shepard) desperate for her love.I love Kristen Bell and her commitment to her single-girl comedy bit especially when she's trying to smash the vase. Josh Duhamel is a likable guy although he's more pretty than funny. There's a chance for a passable rom-com here even with the hopeless Mark Steven Johnson directing. But the four creepy guys really make it impossible to like this movie. They are worst than annoying. They are not funny. The premise really screwed this up.
marysz-1 I don't know what people are looking for. This is a cute, silly RomCom! Geesh! It's not a freaking documentary! If you want a cute, fun escape that's silly and entertaining then watch this movie. There are funny parts. Josh Duhamel's (or however you spell it) sidekicks are funny and there is scenery in Rome. Kristen Bell is likable and cute. The other supporting cast is good (Angelica Houston, Danny DeVito, etc). Not everyone wants to watch depressing movies that are clearly only made to be considered for an Oscar. Sometimes you just want to watch something fun. Oh, and by the way, I'm a girl. So maybe I am more forgiving then some of these guys that would rather watch a Steven Segal movie.
kwraikarn Really. The cast is great, but not in this. Angelica Houston, Danny Devito, Kristen Bell, Josh Duhamel... it should have been at the very least OK. But it was SO bad. Painfully so. Embarrassingly so. I love romantic comedies. I watch them almost religiously. I watch almost every release that can claim, even loosely, to be a romantic comedy. I love the silly banter and the eye rolling, I love the predictability - I was very disappointed that Jennifer Aniston and Vince Vaughn's characters didn't get together at the end of the Break- Up. I felt cheated. But this film had NO magic, NO chemistry, NOTHING but cringe-worthy slapstick and oh... painful... embarrassing for all involved.Avoid at all costs, or watch it, to understand how bad it is.
Alex I enjoyed every minute of this movie! I recommend this movie for everyone out there! It's hilarious and extremely entertaining from the minute you start watching it, and all the way to the end.Kristen Bell is super attractive and plays the role as "Beth" superbly - I mean WOW! She goes all the way from being a detective in "Veronica Mars", to an art curator in this movie. This girl is a pure pleasure to watch on screen, and I would love to see more of her in the future - especially in movies like this, romantic comedies.I love how they put magic (I mean actual real magic) into the whole concept. It gives everything kind of a twist, and doesn't make it a boring cliché romantic comedy. All in all - Superb movie!
