Scanialara You won't be disappointed!
Noutions Good movie, but best of all time? Hardly . . .
Senteur As somebody who had not heard any of this before, it became a curious phenomenon to sit and watch a film and slowly have the realities begin to click into place.
Jenni Devyn Worth seeing just to witness how winsome it is.
buttyfrench First, none of the hotter lead actresses get really naked. That's a low blow. The only really buck naked girl is the slutty, not so hot one. But, it was just a bad, predictable movie. Way, too many cliché-type situations that will not play for a year 2000+ crowd. Look, if this came out in 1972, it would have been good. Not now. Cameos from Tom Bergeron, Tom Arnold, and Tiffany Giffman did nothing to help this very boring film. When I watch a film like this, and it's really bad, I expect some wanton sex and real nakedness for the hotter female leads. I am not looking for all out, full stiffey inducing porn, but I am looking for either an effort in the story department or, at least some, gratuitous nudity.
Brian BarrSinister At the risk of sounding overly judgmental, this movie is total nonsensical GARBAGE.From the way sub-standard make-up effects, to the OMFGWTF cliché storyline, this movie is a complete let-down and does not belong on the Horrorfest roster. It's full of silly inconsistencies and plot holes big enough to drive a Mac truck through. Not even good for a cheap thrill. This movie is like every poorly written slasher flick thrown together and sold to a producer desperate for crack money. Don't even bother watching this flick if you get a chance to see it for free; you'll feel like you want the time wasted watching it refunded to you! The fact that After Dark Films allowed this lackluster submission into their annual horror anthology would bother me if not for some of the outstanding work I've seen in the collection.
Kaspar Krycek Oh woe is me! It was said by an actor in the "making of" featurette "Lake Dead is not your average horror film" Huh?! The f**k it isn't! This is THE most mind-numbingly average piece o' s**t horror film I've seen outside of anything Rob Zombie's put his plagiarist hands to. A half an hour into this film I wanted to kill the cast myself! This film is also another perpetrator of what seems to be a big, conscientious theme in American horror and that is MAJOR gender issues, American males cannot show fear, it seems. What, I wonder, would actual jocks/frat boys do in extreme situations like the ones shown in this film? They'd s**t their 3/4 shorts, I'm sure! Instead, in films like this, you get slightly anxious action men, f**k off! I'm not covering every grievance I have with this title as I'm a rambler and subsequently a space filler, my one piece of advice is DON'T watch this film, don't give douche bag film makers like this more encouragement, look what happened with Michael Bay!! The guys that made this film obviously just watched Deliverance and The Texas Chain Saw Massacre(both brilliant horror films) too many times and decided that they'd try and capitalize on the themes but with much poorly executed accentuation, this film is abhorred.
kyleallen_9 I gave this movie 9 stars out of Ten, only because the story line resembles other flicks like The Texas Chainsaw Massacre and Timber Falls. I went and seen this at a theater when they they had the After Dark Horrorfest playing, and I was really impressed. I went into it thinking that its gonna be a cheesy gore-fest, but it proved me wrong. I mean it had some bloody and violent parts, but it actually is a decent flick. The acting was decent, especially for the fact that the actors weren't really known. When three sisters Kelsey Crane, Kelsey Weeden(Detour) and Tara Gerard inherit some property deep in the country, they and a group of their friends Alex A. Quinn, Malea Richardson, Vanessa Viola and Jim Devotti decide to take a weekend off and check it out. They end up finding a beautiful camping ground and a huge lake and think that it is going to be a weekend that none of them are ever going to forget, until they encounter a family of psychos living on the property. This movie is intense and brutal, so I definitely recommend this flick to everyone.
