Pluskylang Great Film overall
Casey Duggan It’s sentimental, ridiculously long and only occasionally funny
Ariella Broughton It is neither dumb nor smart enough to be fun, and spends way too much time with its boring human characters.
Guillelmina The film's masterful storytelling did its job. The message was clear. No need to overdo.
adonis98-743-186503 Having revived from his wound, Jason Voorhees takes refuge at a cabin near Crystal Lake. As a group of co-eds arrive for their vacation, Jason continues his killing spree. Friday the 13th Part III is a bit better than the first 2 installments but don't take that expecting anything good this time around either since the same over the top acting and terrible storyline once again can be found with a horrifying and just terrible opening theme song that made no sense what so ever. Jason gets his mask tho and that was kinda cool i guess? But it's still bad. (3/10)
Platypuschow So finally the Friday 13th franchise begins to take shape, Jason finds his signature hockey mask and appears to be a more competent monster like killer.Another group of kids go out to the cabins and you know the rest. Sadly once again there really is no story at all and by the time anyone is aware of Jasons spree were down to the token "Final girl" I believe this third part to be a step up from the first two and you can see real development but ultimately these iconic movies are extremely dated and not far off being just another camp slasher.Friday the 13th Part III was released when the 3D fad was going again and it shows, several scenes throughout the film are blatantly implemented for those with the ridiculous looking glasses. As part of the franchise this is watchable stuff, but if you've seen the previous 2 or for that matter any camp slasher you'll know exactly what's coming. The Good: Jason Voorhees is taking shape The Bad: Very generic stuffThings I Learnt From This Movie: In the 80's all bikers & "Punks" were criminals Jason was a lot less appealing when he was alive A scene where a man points a washing line pole towards the camera for the purposes of "3D" made me question whether 3D porn would be entertaining or really frickin scary
Maladapted Friday the 13th Part III was supposed to be the last of the series after the first two did surprisingly well. The formula changes slightly, moving from counselors to a group of friends relaxing for a weekend near Crystal Lake. No longer do we have to ask "Where are the children?" The movie starts with a recap from the previous film, which is all of the previous film you really need to know to enjoy the movie. It was intended to end the series, so it doesn't cliffhanger you to death. If I'm introducing someone to Friday the 13th, Part II or Part III are my go to flicks. Since it is the movie where Jason gets his iconic hockey mask, it is probably the best entry point for the franchise if you don't want to subject someone to all of the parts before it.
Movie-man2002 I'm going to be giving a summary of the good and the bad of this movie and my overall thoughts. Here we go. Good: The movie has a few great kills that are creative and really "pop" out at you. Jason finally gets his iconic hockey mask. The 3D gimmick leads to some "so bad it's good" moments. Bad: The movie is generic as hell. It feels like the exact same movie as Part 2, which makes sense since Steve Miner also directed that film. There is barely any nudity or gore. The characters are completely uninteresting and you don't care what happens to them whatsoever. The script is lazier than usual. I know the "F13" films aren't famous for there writing but it feels as if this one was written while the writers were asleep. The acting in this is complete garbage, and that's saying something for a "F13" film. Also, wtf what with that biker gang!Verdict: Overall, this is one of the lesser films in the "F13" franchise. After the classic Part 1 and good Part 2, this movie pales in comparison to those movies. The biggest crime this movie commits is that it is so generic and predictable that it becomes boring. If you are going to watch all of the "F13" films, you can skip this one. Grade: 2/10
