Evengyny Thanks for the memories!
Moustroll Good movie but grossly overrated
Intcatinfo A Masterpiece!
Marva It is an exhilarating, distressing, funny and profound film, with one of the more memorable film scores in years,
rigordatu This is one of the few Godzilla movies where I actually care for the plot. We get to have humans doing all this Kung fu stuff and we get to see Godzilla kick ass in hardcore fashion! I do have to admit the final battle with Monster X dragged on but this movie was still epic and hardcore!
rdhigg1 I don't even know where to start here. I enjoyed it's predecessor Godzilla Tokyo S.O.S and was really looking forward to this one. Especially, when I found out it would have some of the retro monsters in it. Boy, was I disappointed! The film runs 2 hours and 5 min, which turns out to be about an hour and a half too long. The director seems to think he's directing a music video. Short fight scenes with cameos from back in the day monsters, CGI overload, the main villain looks and acts absolutely ridiculous, but the score though....just unforgivable. Do I really need to hear out of place hip hop techno beats at every turn? I've never been one to be hard on movies. I can watch "B" movies all day long, but this movie just sadly screams "hey younger generation, look at me". 50th anniversary deserved better.
Sankari_Suomi I got exactly what I bargained for. This movie is spectacularly camp, with all the racism and sexism you'd expect from a Japanese movie. Some classic lines, too:Senior scientist: 'A hybrid of machine and organic life form. A cyborg monster. We checked its outer skin, it's 12,000 years old.'Junior scientist: 'Was there such a technology so long ago?'Oh Japan, you never disappoint. I rate Gojiru-san: Fainaru Uôzu, Big Battle Kaijū All Out Attack! at 23.31 on the Haglee Scale, which works out as 7/10 on IMDb because I'm feeling generous and it's a fine example of the kaiju genre.
Adam Foidart Even hardcore Godzilla fans will have a hard time swallowing "Godzilla: Final Wars". Sure there are plenty of monsters in the film, but none of them have any presence and aside from a few monsters, they have very little screen time overall. Some monsters appear for less than five minutes, only to display how "Awesome" Godzilla is when he effortlessly blows them away. Really, what's the point? This isn't going to win the big guy any new fans, and old fans won't be seeing anything new, since this is a retread of "Destroy all Monsters". The dialog is very bad, the characters are cliché and the story is lazy. Despite the good special effects and large roster of monsters, this is one of the worst entries in the series because while it really just feels like a 13 year old played one of the "Godzilla" fighting games, drew his own "most awesome Godzilla story ever" and turned it into a film (Dvd, March 2012)
