SpunkySelfTwitter It’s an especially fun movie from a director and cast who are clearly having a good time allowing themselves to let loose.
Numerootno A story that's too fascinating to pass by...
Rio Hayward All of these films share one commonality, that being a kind of emotional center that humanizes a cast of monsters.
Marva It is an exhilarating, distressing, funny and profound film, with one of the more memorable film scores in years,
Michael Ledo Morris (Tony Curran) lives on the Moors. He owns a wrecker and has a nefarious watch collection. As he is about to add to his collection, his daughter (Diana Vickers) interrupts him and Jake (Rupert Hill) becomes a house guest in what comes initially as a farmer's daughter joke. Jake's desire to leave meets with resistance from Morris who operates a profitable business.Th picture starts out good but then stagnates. There are a limited number of victims so the film must concentrate on what few it has. The influence Jake has on the daughter wasn't done well. They should have cut 20 minutes from the film.Guide: F-bomb. No sex or nudity.
SummerMaru I like UK movies so even though the rating was low, I wanted to see it. If it had been from the US, I wouldn't have bothered. UK and other foreign movies, no matter how bad they might be, have a uniqueness to them that US movies don't.Because Awaiting was only an hour and a half, it was enjoyable and slightly horrific without becoming boring. It also wasn't a ridiculous scenario. I never heard of Diana Vickers before seeing this and I thought she was very good in her role. I also like the music at the end-was surprised it was also her singing. When you're in the middle of nowhere, it's easy to get away with things. And as for the daughter, this was the only life she had known so it didn't seem odd to her. I really don't want to give away spoilers for anyone who does want to see it. I think it was a good horror/thriller movie with some shocking scenes. Don't let a few negative reviews stop you from watching. It's definitely a unique movie - not the type of story that's been done over and over again.
HorrorOverEverything Don't have a whole lot to say about this flick, it's not terrible or anything but it fails to really do anything new. Seemed to have a good budget, the actors/actresses all did a fine job, and the effects were solid but every thing this film brought to the table just felt like things I have seen in tons of other horror films.Still was able to hold my interest til the credits and the last 20 minutes were pretty thrilling but nothing too memorable or unpredictable ever really happened. Not a bad movie, but pretty forgettable and not one I would suggest going out of your way to see.5/10
dalriada35 We picked this film from a good number showing to spend our hard earned cash on at Frighfest in London today. Frighfest is a truly excellent festival full of brilliant horror films, however, this is not one of them. Not by a long chalk. Even the production values which were fairly high and the normally excellent Tony Curran couldn't save this God awful film. The main problems with this film, and the issues were numerous, was the terrible script and the terrible acting of Diana Vickers. I don't often give reviews although I do watch many films. The strength of my feeling means that I am compelled to warn horror fans not to spend either their precious time or their money on this film. Instead, watch The Lesson made for much less money, much better acting and very well executed.
