Skunkyrate Gripping story with well-crafted characters

Matylda Swan It is a whirlwind of delight --- attractive actors, stunning couture, spectacular sets and outrageous parties.
Logan By the time the dramatic fireworks start popping off, each one feels earned.
jmk1707 This is horrible, the acting is pathetic, the special effects looks like something out of the 90's and i can go on about the rest, but see for yourselves. CAN SOMEONE PLEASE MAKE A PROPER MERLIN AND ARTHUR MOVIE??? The Merlin series (with Colin Morgan) was fantastic! So maybe create a movie in line with the series, or continuing where it ended (forever reigning king)
elnator I've long been a fan of the various legends surrounding Arthur and Merlin. This movie took quite a different turn on them but did it in a very good way. I've seen many ratings here (I read them all before watching the movie). There are those who rate it highly stating it's an amazing film despite this or that and those who rate it lowly stating the acting is horrible. Neither are completely wrong. The acting isn't the best I've ever seen but it's not awful either. Acting was believable enough to allow you to get immersed in the story and that's all I ever really ask for. The plot was well done though a bit rushed in some places and the overall feel of the movie was excellent. I also really liked that they didn't rely on special effects to tell the story. There were a few... some fog, some smoke... a little fire... but overall the story was done mostly through good storytelling and decent acting.A solid movie. It's not a blockbuster by any stretch but it was a great way to spend a couple hours on a day off.
shinnstoneer-196-36478 The quality is very high in fair comparison with other indie films. The story is entertaining and kept my attention for most of the movie. Anyone that wants to compare this to the typical Hollywood epic will find it lacking but only because of their own unrealistic expectations. The acting is really above average if fairly compared to indie films as a whole. There are some minor characters who could make you cringe but like the better indie films some stand out. One particular scene was excellently portrayed by the actor playing the role. It is a moment when Merlin/Myrddin encounters someone from his childhood. The story moves along well most of the time and is well paced. I'm mystified at the person who compares the length to a Lord of the Rings movie as this one is an hour and forty minutes. One would have to watch it twice to match the exact run time of Return of the King. Those who want massive battle scenes, high end CGI and typical Hollywood budget films shouldn't waste their time. Someone who appreciates the art of cinema and solid storytelling will most likely enjoy this film as long as they're a fan of the genre.
CloverCandy This film is way better than most low budget movies I've seen. There have been plenty of others that i have rented and couldn't even finish watching. Sure the acting wasn't the best, but not the worst by far. The guy playing the wizard was pretty bad. I get the feeling that he just wasn't a good fit and would be better in something different. Maybe comedy? The story was good. The atmosphere was real. It kept a decent pace. It was definitely better than Scyfy original movies. Its worth watching. As far as all the fuss about fake reviews, as annoying as that is, you cant blame the people connected with the movie and their families for trying to build it up and get more people to watch. That doesn't mean its not a decent movie or that it shouldn't be given a shot.
