Lollivan It's the kind of movie you'll want to see a second time with someone who hasn't seen it yet, to remember what it was like to watch it for the first time.
Roman Sampson One of the most extraordinary films you will see this year. Take that as you want.
Kaelan Mccaffrey Like the great film, it's made with a great deal of visible affection both in front of and behind the camera.
Juana what a terribly boring film. I'm sorry but this is absolutely not deserving of best picture and will be forgotten quickly. Entertaining and engaging cinema? No. Nothing performances with flat faces and mistaking silence for subtlety.
dreamgavino I enjoyed Season 1 to 4. The character development, plot twists, and story direction were pretty much on point. I am currently watching Season 5, and it has become such a circus I don't know where to begin. Pretty much all of the characters lack any redeeming traits whatsoever. Whatever glimmer of decency they have left are ultimately shadowed by their foibles. The characters are all driven by sex at this point. One can argue that they have always been driven by sex, but the difference is that Season 5's portrayal of sex is almost offensive. I also don't buy that Matt has become a drug addict due to his "love" for Kimber. I don't buy Julia turning to Christian for comfort. I don't buy Sean's foray into acting. It's sad when shows with great beginnings are eventually eclipsed by their horrible endings. It seems that the writers were determined to destroy any character development that has been in play in the earlier seasons. With that being said, I will still definitely recommend this.
ShelbyTMItchell The Shield is the first show that helped out F/X putting it on the map in 2002. With it's gritty drama of police work. Well, a show about plastic surgeons helped to increase the network which was shrugging eight years to find an audience when it came on in 1994.It has two best friends that are of course, plastic surgeons. Dylan Walsh former B-movie actor, plays the older and responsible. But troubled brother with a marriage crumbling and two kids who resent him not being there for them. Then there is TV Australian vet, Julian McMahan as the cocky older younger doctor. Who loves wine, women, and song. And is unethical as they come.Still the show's sexy ways and the world of plastic surgery helped put the network on the map in a big time way!
Armand more than a TV series. for accuracy of surgery scenes. for the courage to talk about delicate problems. for the humor and for good acting. it is not exactly entertainment but a kind of window. it is not a lesson about values or behaviors. only puzzle of ordinaries reactions. and its virtue is art to present delicate problem of aesthetic surgery. not as different world but as field of characters problems. fear, angry, hate, hope, lies, shame, need of beauty or only desire to have an ideal image, eccentric cases and not special errors, doctors far to be heroes and situations in which imagination is only arm of common difficulties.a delicate subject and wise manner to present it. so, it is not really bad idea to see it. only an episode. after this step, a season is not enough.
squirtsquirt7 I believe the tag-line for Nip/Tuck describes it best: "A Disturbingly Perfect Drama." That is exactly what Nip/Tuck is. From the very first "Tell me what you don't like about yourself," to the final time we Sean and Christian together, this series made an impression and paved the way for all great dramas after it. The writing, especially in season 2 but throughout the whole series is very witty and intelligent. The cast highlighted by Dylan Walsh and Julian Mcmahon are perfect in their roles and give many Emmy-worthy performances throughout the series. I don't want to give too much away but this show has it all. Drama, romance, humor, suspense and even some action. The first 3 seasons are incredible, almost nothing better on TV. Season 4 was very good, season 5 the show started to slip a bit and got kind of cheesy but is still good. Season 6 I felt it got back on its feet and finished in a spectacular way. The ending was beautiful. If you're looking for an intelligent series this is the one for you. The premise is easy enough, two plastic surgeons who also happen to be best friends working in Miami and dealing with daily life and family drama, but it goes way beyond all that and is truly one of the greatest series of the last 20 years!
