SoTrumpBelieve Must See Movie...
Huievest Instead, you get a movie that's enjoyable enough, but leaves you feeling like it could have been much, much more.
Cooktopi The acting in this movie is really good.
Calum Hutton It's a good bad... and worth a popcorn matinée. While it's easy to lament what could have been...
Tss5078 Sometimes films can be entertaining, but for one reason or another are utterly forgettable. In the case of Fire With Fire, I enjoyed the film, but even a few weeks later, I had a difficult time remembering the plot. This is because once again we have an action film that is completely average in every way possible. It's a common story, with a lot of bullets, f words, and bodies, featuring a cast that was far from superb. Jeremy Coleman (Josh Duhamel) is a firefighter who witness a horrible crime. As a result, Coleman is put into the Witness Protection Program, which according to Hollywood is completely inept. Once found, Coleman and his significant other are forced to go on the run and ultimately decide to take the fight to their pursuers, with mixed results. This film was completely predictable and lacked any originality what so ever. Josh Duhamel stars and while he is a good looking, gigantic man, he's not much of an action star. He's lanky, awkward, and simply doesn't have the moves or personality to be believable as an action star. The Director tries to correct this by surrounding him with veteran action stars like Bruce Willis and Vincent D'Onofrio, but it is still painfully obvious that Duhamel got the role simply to be eye candy, further proved by the amount of times he unnecessarily takes his shirt off. As with all action films, Fire With Fire has it's moments, and Vincent D'Onofrio is always an entertaining villain, but aside from that, this film is good for nothing more than a 90 minute distraction, that you probably won't even remember it a few days later.
adele-roets75 I believe never to let facts ruin a good story, but if you are trying to sell horsesh*t as roses, at least have the decency to polish those turds to a high sheen. Everybody looks ashamed to be associated with this bomb and they only completed the project to claim their paychecks. So what does this stinker consist of? It starts with a fire where the fireman gets rewarded with a box of very expensive booze (as if anybody would hand it out after their home or place of business burned down), our hero & friends end their shift & decide to drink the booze, our hero gets trapped in a convenience store where the very predictable evil white guy kills the very predictable victims from a minority group, our hero escapes and only gets shot in the arm, he identifies the villain, decides to testify against him and enters witness protection. Hero decides to take the fight to villain, get seven shades of sh*t beaten out of him every few minutes (without any side effects). Hero kills villain. Pop in some cheesy lines, bad acting and profanity for the sake of profanity and you get the whole movie on a cheese platter, albeit a moldy cheese platter. Watch at your own peril. Rather read a book, any book, the plot and suspense of Little Red Hiding Hood is better. The 1 star is for Bruce Willis, just because my mom worships the man.
Wizard-8 Considering that this movie went straight to DVD despite having Bruce Willis in its cast, I wasn't expecting much. But when I got a chance to see it for free after finding a DVD copy at my local library, I decided to give it a spin. Actually, unlike many user commenters here, I didn't find the movie to be terrible. To be sure, its screenplay could have gone through a few more rewrites - the love subplot feels unfinished, the main story has more than its share of predictable twists and turns, and the ending feels rushed and incomplete. Also, some of the acting leaves a lot to be desired. Josh Duhamel transformation from an ordinary Joe to a methodical killer is quite unconvincing, and Bruce Willis is downright terrible at times, phoning in a performance that obviously only took a few days to shoot. On the other hand, Vincent D'Onofrio makes his bad guy character a quite nasty piece of work, coming across as smart and scary - a deadly combination. And while a lot of the movie is predictable, I can't say I was bored at any moment. It moves along at a swift pace, and the action sequences are exciting and extremely brutal. This is far from a great movie, but if you are looking for some nonthink entertainment, it does deliver. Yes, it has some big problems, but believe me, I have seen plenty of direct to video movies that are MUCH worse than this movie.
ahmetsen2004 Think about a mafia boss who organizes a mafia system in 50 states but he is killing someone in gas station or somewhere else. That kind of person has to be in close follow-up by authorities. He can easily all information about someone who is in an witness protection program. It has not to be possible any officer can reach that kind of info. Maybe that movie can be a sample how you make mistakes. Meanwhile it cannot be easy to reach that kind of mafia bosses and their locations I think. However you can see some active scenes. For example the woman police see the bullet in the air just like the matrix. One of them entered into her head but she did not have any scare on her face.
