Matho The biggest problem with this movie is it’s a little better than you think it might be, which somehow makes it worse. As in, it takes itself a bit too seriously, which makes most of the movie feel kind of dull.

Juana what a terribly boring film. I'm sorry but this is absolutely not deserving of best picture and will be forgotten quickly. Entertaining and engaging cinema? No. Nothing performances with flat faces and mistaking silence for subtlety.

Fleur Actress is magnificent and exudes a hypnotic screen presence in this affecting drama.

somethingshire For people saying this show isn't like the Arthur legend so it's bad, let me just say, that's the point. The Arthurian Legends are heavily Christian, Merlin and Morgana are hardly even characters. The druids were supposedly the old religion of Britain, Ireland, Scotland. Tales like dragons and elves and fairies and wizards and witches originally come from old beliefs. The Arthur legend is in part about the onset of Christianity in Medieval times. This is enjoyable even if you aren't Christian though. In fact, it makes a point of criticizing cruel methods of spreading Christianity. Are things different even if sorcery was real and not myths? Not really, you can do good or ill with it, just as you can use great power, influence, and wealth for good or ill. In fact, I feel that it is criticizing this kind of behavior in general and using it to discuss things that are more modern such as racism, making Guinivere a black serving girl, and perhaps others such as disputes about the humanity of drug laws. It has been argued in Mexico that it violates a human right of free development of personality to ban marijuana. Indeed, in this story it is not as simple as Christianity simply taking over where sorcery was. Even if Merlin becomes Christian he has to hide who and what he is for fear of death. This makes characters like Morgana and Mordrid less truly bad characters and their actions more understandable. Their actions are completely understandable because they were not just defending a belief, but themselves and their families, often slaughtered and made to go into hiding by Uther. Uther is an interesting character as well. He's truly terrible. His reason for hating sorcery is interesting when explained. (nothing to do with christianity) Completely mad and even funny at times. It's definitely modernized, for the better since Merlin is the best character anyway, and strangely I like his big ears. They're cute. Sort of funny. Old men with big ears usually look like little goblins, especially if white hair is poking out of them. But it's a great show, lots of ethical things for you to puzzle over. Is it even understandable why Merlin supports Arthur? Would you in his position, given what a terrible guy Uther is? Honestly I would run away with Kilgara but I suppose if that happened the show would be over.

jmaemitchell I love this show there are so many twists that I love and is very addicting. I love all the characters but especially Merlin.

seiniboo I loved how you kept the show more innocent. It didn't matter that there was really no sex scenes or nude parts that you see in everything these days. I loved it anyway. I feel like it would be amazing if you kept it going. I wanna see more. I would definitely recommend this show to anyone I know. Please don't stop it forever. Keep it going. There are so many things you could do with the story line. It's amazing and I'm sad that there is not more. I seriously crave it.

sunjaysmith This is an amazing series with dragons, knights and magic. I love the medieval mythology and fighting against the forces of darkness. I saw all five seasons and gave it an eight. It was nice seeing the perspective of Merlin. I would recommend to any fan of the genre. I thought the story line and characters were brilliant.
