Exactly the movie you think it is, but not the movie you want it to be.

An old-fashioned movie made with new-fashioned finesse.

Actress is magnificent and exudes a hypnotic screen presence in this affecting drama.

I have never seen the original so I'm not going to base it on that. The show started great with the truths and the police trying to catch the TT. Once it hit episode 8 or 9 the show became awful. So much plot induced stupidity it was comical. No point what so ever watching the last episode because it's obvious how it all turns out. The kid "Adam" just running out while he knows a killer is after his family makes no sense. I get he thinks it's his old girlfriend but nobody is that stupid to do that, then of course he leaves his computer open for them all to see. We all knew they would drag out the last episode with so much talking you could literally fast forward 95% of the episode and miss nothing.Show was very promising but became just like any other run of the mill garbage detective shows when it became about Karl and his past.

Through two seasons, a good French-British take on the highly original Swedish-Danish "Bridge." Excellent casting of the leads. But a tad too much BBC-like formula. The third season was a letdown-barely including the leading character, who essentially disappeared by episode 4. Whereas The Bridge roared into season 3 with a stunning story and new second lead.

Watched E1 and half way of E2. To fantastic for me. The guy wires up the car with a fake bomb? The guy plants hidden cameras? The guy falls off the train ramp at exactly the exact time a train is coming? Things like that make it poor directing or writing or something. I mean, it's like a batman comic. The CIA would have a hard time pulling this stuff off.

The show started very strongly, the characters were developing well, but towards the end around the episode 7 mark it drifted to weakness and story creep. It appeared as if the writers got a sudden bout of writers fatigue and rushed to finish the plot. The scrambled voices were no more, the scenes towards the end tended to be idiotic and a waste of good talent. Which leads me to shining redeeming qualities and that's Pousy, Dillane and to some extent Mawre. I feel they could have developed his arc much better. A guy who supposedly was so secretive and used such byzantine methods turned out to be just another run of the mill psycho with just 1 dimension. What a waste of what could have been.On another note I could see Stannis and Uncle Benjen shining.
