Colibel Terrible acting, screenplay and direction.
Odelecol Pretty good movie overall. First half was nothing special but it got better as it went along.
Roman Sampson One of the most extraordinary films you will see this year. Take that as you want.
Juana what a terribly boring film. I'm sorry but this is absolutely not deserving of best picture and will be forgotten quickly. Entertaining and engaging cinema? No. Nothing performances with flat faces and mistaking silence for subtlety.
roneysam I couldn't make it through the first ten minutes. Had to stop it and find something else to watch. Forced dialogue, terrible acting. I really have trouble believing that anyone in the first ten minutes of episode 1 has ever acted before. It was as if ghey were reading lines they had never seen before from cards. I love this genre. I was looking forward to binging the whole series. I'm not hard to please. This was just to bad to watch. Big disappointment.
firewalker_666 Sci-fi came up with another non science fiction show, there making a real habit out of this with shows like Eureka and the canceled Dresden files. Usually I am not a big fan of shows like this. There not bad but not as good as shows like SG-1 and Farscape. The latest show is Flash Gordon a televised version of the great comic hero. How good/bad is this show? Well I guess it's a little unbelievable, the characters are sleek and can all fight as WWE champion wrestlers. When fighting enemies they always come one at a time and flash always kicks there butt even though the enemies most of the time are trained soldiers or hunters who live off the land. So far-fetched would be an understatement. Is there anything good about it? Of course! The constant shock of our earth born heroes when they see how things work in Mongo, the tribes and how they interact with each other. Not to mention the evil dictator Ming and his strange relationship with his gorgeous daughter.Who should watch this show you ask? Well people who watched an enjoyed shows like Hercules, Xena, Robin of Sherwood and can stand a cheesy plot line now and again. So are you planning on watching this show? Well then I can give you some good advice. Don't give up after a few episodes. The good ones come when the plot thickens and the characters come more and more involved with Mongo and its people.
Obelix_1971 I don't think this is as bad as some reviewers seem to believe. I do think that this is NOT Flash Gordon. I'm getting sick and tired of Hollywood re-imagining or re-inventing stuff. I mean, what's the point of naming your show Flash Gordon and then taking it as far away from it's origins as you can get. In my humble opinion you will just disappoint people. And when you read the majority of the reviews here, they have!! It's too bad for the lead character, because Eric Johnson is great!! He can act and he is great as an action hero. The actor who plays Zarkoff is also great. He actually made me laugh out loud several times. The great let down (besides the SFX and very mediocre writing) of this show is Ming! He is certainly not merciless, he is just...well...less. He is not scary nor is he even interesting. Damn I want Max von Sydow back!! I mean what's next?? A re-invention of Star Wars where Darth Vader is actually a Russian ballet dancer?? I mean come on!! If you name your show Flash Gordon then give us Flash Gordon and NOT the sequel to Sliders where the main character just happen to listen to the name Flash Gordon.
BalzarX This show is great - pure entertainment. It's updated and different and has beautiful women and a good story line. The sets and costumes, for a small-time TV sci-fi show, aren't bad. The characters from the various cantons show imagination and allow for varied stories. This show is s-o-o-o-o much better than Battlestar. OK, Flash is a little dippy, but, hey, look at the old Buster Crabbe movies. Could there have been a worse actor? I don't know who was worse Flash, Zarkov, or Ming. Yet they have endured the test of time, and clearly set the stage for the various Star Trek series. (If you look closely William Shatner as Captain Kirk copied Buster Crabbe's "shoulder run" - he ran with his shoulders.) I TiVo the Friday episode and can't wait until Saturday morning to watch it. It's like a trip down memory lane. Give Flash a break!
