FeistyUpper If you don't like this, we can't be friends.
Nessieldwi Very interesting film. Was caught on the premise when seeing the trailer but unsure as to what the outcome would be for the showing. As it turns out, it was a very good film.
Aneesa Wardle The story, direction, characters, and writing/dialogue is akin to taking a tranquilizer shot to the neck, but everything else was so well done.
Deanna There are moments in this movie where the great movie it could've been peek out... They're fleeting, here, but they're worth savoring, and they happen often enough to make it worth your while.
pkoutiva I loved everything in it.. The actors, it was a great cast, the fights, the lovestory. Everything was so well balanced.
sanstrainingwheels Disclaimer: I am a huge Kelley Armstrong fan and thus hugely biased. The following review is about the quality of adaption, it does NOT analyze the show in a vacuum. For non-book readers, I give the show a 5/10, maybe a 6 if I was feeling generous, but for fans of the book it's a 3. But hey, you're probably more forgiving than me, so don't hesitate to go forth and form your own opinions. That said, I am annoyed about a bunch of little things, which I would happily dismiss were it not for one or two big things. I won't waste time nitpicking and go straight into those.I really don't appreciate how they massaged everything to fit the most generic mold possible. The book is, yeah, super pulpy in premise, but it's dynamic in tone, full of playful scenes and contemplative scenes, steamy scenes, scenes with tension, with grief, with rage... The show aims for just straight-up tension almost all the way through, which just isn't enjoyable to watch. The show's scenes where Elena interacts with the other Pack members are bizarrely stilted, unlike the boisterous family dynamic I had expected. Plus, as an added vexation, the show mimics the atmosphere of other shows in the genre (cough cough, Hemlock Grove) and thus in my opinion aims for mediocrity. My biggest complaint, though, is what they did to Clay as a character. In the book, Elena is the only one who acts hostile. When she first comes home, she greets him with jabs while he counters with jokes. In the show, Clay is completely stripped of the sense of humour that is one of the basic elements of his character. They turn him into some brooding caricature with no likability. One of the other reviewers on this site even suspected him of being ABUSIVE towards Elena, which is the most obvious demonstration of why the changes made to his character were the wrong ones.Even Elena's character is watered down, and she's the freaking protagonist! The woman is SUPPOSED to have an attitude! SHOW IT! To have both lead roles portrayed so inadequately makes the show almost unwatchable for me.
mattgoodwin-61792 If anybody from the era of the witch trials such as a puritan watched this garbage of a TV show they would probably burn all of the actors in the show for being a witch or wizard, other than that this show is straight from the bottomless pits of hell and it doesn't deserve any praise it gets thank God it has been cancelled because people turning into animals and killing other humans is absolutely DISGUSTING!!! Especially when they torment them and use them as a food source I mean if you would've made it where the werewolves actually got killed and eaten by Chinese people because they look like dogs then at least it would've been a lot more entertaining than it is right now
Shopaholic35 I don't mind this show. I tend to get a Twilight Soap Opera vibe from it but it's still pretty good to watch. There is so much drama and angst oozing from the characters, plenty of forlorn pained expressions and unrequited love. It's sappy and predictable but strangely appealing.I would appreciate a little more plot development though. So far they've only focused on one aspect that probably doesn't need to be explored more. It just needs some new plot twists to keep me engaged. Can we also just take a minute to talk about all the butts in this show. I mean every now and then is fine but I'm starting to get butt boredom from seeing them flashed across the screen every five minutes. Enough already.
