It’s sentimental, ridiculously long and only occasionally funny

The premise is stupid, the premise is stupid and the WHOLE SHOW IS STUPID!!! First off, the dog is the best actor. Second and biggest point, the dog is barely in this! It's more of a slice of life from a mundane family, like Good Luck Charlie. But with Good Luck Charlie they did it right. The dog has a view scenes in one episode. The show should be named "Slice of a Mediocre Life!". And they have a child actor. Oh Delight!! You can almost see the cards with her lines hanging there because otherwise, this kid would have no idea what she's talking about. Avery is the stereotypical stiff following rules nerd and Tyler is the guy with a lesbian haircut and the brain of a jellyfish. The only funny guy is Bennett. And there is this plot about a kid that is trying to reveal the dog's secret but i forgot about this in 2 seconds. This is the kind of show that you would watch in the backseat of your car during a really boring trip if you're really young. It almost counts for every Disney Channel show. Disney movies created our childhood like a almighty wizard. But Disney Channel is a new low.

When I first heard about Dog with a Blog, I was looking forward to it. It sounded fun--a talking dog with a blog--and I enjoyed G. Hannelius in Sonny With a Chance as Dakota, the studio brat.In addition, it started out promisingly. There was a noticeable lack of crude humor, and the plots were simple and effective.Recently, however, the show has become very frustrating. There are times when the show is delightful, usually when Avery (Hannelius) and the little sister Chloe are on-screen. However, Dog with a Blog varies between brilliant writing and bland, clichéd writing with lots of potty humor. As mentioned earlier, acting isn't this show's strong point. Only Avery and Chloe can act. The rest of the cast is painful to watch, especially the parents. However, it's not the worst show on Disney or Nick right now. You could do something worse with thirty minutes than this.If you want a good sitcom on one of those channels, I recommend Lab Rats (or even Good Luck Charlie reruns). Stay away from anything after season 1 with this one.

OK, I have to admit this isn't the worst I've seen on Disney (Ant Farm, Shake It Up, Good Luck Charlie etc.) but it isn't GREAT either. The story lines and jokes aren't too bad. It's the characters that get me. Ellen, the stay at home dramatic mom. She is by far the worst. Her jokes and over acting are sometimes too much to bear. Tyler coming next. Tyler reminds me of a non singing Austin Moon to be honest. He's all about swag and getting the girls and all that but isn't the slightest bit funny or attractive. Benett isn't that bad. Usually funny. Averi is sometimes funny but most of the time is over- acting. Stan is my favorite personally. He is funny and doesn't over-act too much. I like Chloe a lot. She's cute and probably the best actor over all ironically.Sometimes I cringe over the cheesy jokes and all but I've also caught myself laughing. My daughter LOVES this show and I have seen it many times. I just think with some more realistic scenes, funnier actors and all, it wouldn't be that bad. I hope you'll find some time to look over the nice parts and not the horrible character choices and acting.
