Sharkflei Your blood may run cold, but you now find yourself pinioned to the story.
Bluebell Alcock Ok... Let's be honest. It cannot be the best movie but is quite enjoyable. The movie has the potential to develop a great plot for future movies
Rio Hayward All of these films share one commonality, that being a kind of emotional center that humanizes a cast of monsters.
Roxie The thing I enjoyed most about the film is the fact that it doesn't shy away from being a super-sized-cliche;
Carina Ullberg I have just finished looking season 5 episode 16 and my thought was "Oh, but ... what ... I want to know".I liked Covert Affairs, I liked the acting - well almost everything. It was a series with after thoughts, action, romance, sorrow, some sex ... well it had about everything you can expect. I do become a little displeased with the fighting scenes. Why did all the men tried to strangle her? Every time? Isn't that a very difficult way to take out a opponent? Did the director have some special hangup with strangulation? Or is it consider special with a man strangle a female? Is it sexy or what? In my eyes it just is dumb. It is one of the first thing you learn to cope with if you have trained just a small amount of jujitsu for example - escaping a man trying to strangle you. And why should not a CIA-agent know those very simple thing ... They should be able to do something better than letting every man try to strangle her.And the heals? And the sound of the heals when she is trying to sneaking toward a room or in a stairway? That is not very truthful is it? And when she did fight wearing high stilettos, why did she not put the heal in the opponent?There was a lot of action flaws in my opinion but some how I really liked it. It was entertaining, thrilling, funny, sensitive and sadness (crying) - Yes, I do liked the series and I am a little sad that there was no more season.A question - does the spy earn that much money so they have afford those shoes and those clothes? I don't think those are very cheap :)
antoniotierno Covert Affairs is fast-paced, funny at times and charming in a way. This drama provides a less cynical view of intelligence work compared to other similar dramas. Though having the habit of blasting maudlin pop ballads to signal Annie's moodier moments it has action scenes — particularly a hotel room barrage of sniper fire in the pilot episode — of first rate. The series is not as taut or intense as "24" or the "Bourne" trilogy but works on the whole and when the nation seems nostalgic for cold war simplicity, this espionage drama answers the call. Action sequences — gunfire, car chases and hand-to-hand combat — but also emotional turmoils. Acceptable overall.
peterplucker Hi, perhaps it is part of her disguise but why would a very active spy put on very high heels when dressing in the morning? It just isn't plausible! She always ends up running somewhere which is downright dangerous in huge heels. Is this product placement gone mad?Otherwise the acting is pretty good and the story is plausible, so the tension is maintained - especially when things do not go as Annie (and the viewer) expect.Why are Annie's sister and family missing in the latest series? They provided a good "grounding" for Annie and a contrast to her spying world, and would have added another level to Annie's secret life off the grid for 6 months. Leaving them out of this series was a mistake.
sandimcg This is the first good spy-type series I've seen since 24 (looking forward to its return on FOX)and Alias (such fun with all the disguises, gadgets and mystic aspect). I was SO happy to have recently discovered Covert Affairs! This show is thoroughly entertaining if you enjoyed 24 and/or Alias. And - stop comparing - they're all different. I definitely enjoy the characters in this show. I am now into the 4th season and, even though there are some things that should be made logical with just a few sentences of explanation, and there is the inevitable craziness in all shows - like getting from the U.S. to Europe in just the right location in the middle of nowhere in - seemingly a few hours instead of a day - just in time for someone (like the elusive Ben, Eyal or Teo) to save Annie's life. Of COURSE, we're happy - big phew! And who cares if it's implausible - it's a TV show that needs to keep moving along. Purists will nit pick, but I would say anyone who likes this genre will find it totally intriguing entertaining and compelling. I always look forward to seeing what twist is coming up next. I hope it keeps going for years without the writers getting bored and killing off the best characters and ruining the series.
