Synopsis

Xander Cage is your standard adrenaline junkie with no fear and a lousy attitude. When the US Government "recruits" him to go on a mission, he's not exactly thrilled. His mission: to gather information on an organization that may just be planning the destruction of the world, led by the nihilistic Yorgi.

Diagonaldi Very well executed
Cebalord Very best movie i ever watch
Claysaba Excellent, Without a doubt!!
Invaderbank The film creates a perfect balance between action and depth of basic needs, in the midst of an infertile atmosphere.
Matt Greene Within the first half hour, we get 5 zoomed-in shots of Diesel's xXx neck tattoo, usually right after he's been captured by someone. That, along with a soundtrack consisting of Drowning Pool & Hatebreed, captures this glistening collection of testosterone pretty succinctly. It's certainly not as bad as it could (impressive stunts, upbeat attitude), but it's also not very good (sloppy editing, corny dialogue, ridiculous lead character). Put a more confident, funny actor in the lead, & you may have something.
Nicolas F. Costoglou ...is this movie in a nutshell. It has everything: Gadgets, Cars, Women, Guns, a doomsday device and a rich villain with many soldiers for our hero to kill. But Xander Cage is no trained spy, but a extreme sports fanatic and also a rebel against authority, and Vin Diesel, which are three points that make him even better than our tuxedo-wearing friend...The cinematography and editing is very good, mostly for the action sequences and (still) very impressive stunts. Also the special and visual effects are top notch for a movie from 2002.The style however is typical...typical Rob Cohen...typical early- 2000's EXTREME-nes. The music for example is pure early 2000's rock and hasn't aged that well, but the orchestral soundtrack is not that bad.The story is interesting and never get's dull, so that it's entertaining all the way through. It's a fun action movie, with a very entertaining lead and some incredibly impressive stunts...
adonis98-743-186503 An extreme sports athlete, Xander Cage, is recruited by the government on a special mission. With XXX: Return of Xander Cage coming out in Theaters this Friday i decided to re-watch the first 2 films and review them so let's start with XXX the Original film starring Vin Diesel that came out in 2002 and it's a spy action film with lots of suspense and some pretty cool stunt work and although the movie can get a bit cheesy at times with things that make no sense just remember that this was the case all along. The acting is good for a film of this kind and Marton Csokas makes a really good villain as for Samuel L. Jackson he is great as always, the action sequences were handled very well and they were thrilling from start to finish and the film in the end succeeds on what it tries to do which is to entertain it's viewers with non stop action and one liners plus the soundtrack was pretty cool too (A+)
SnoopyStyle Xander Cage (Vin Diesel) is an adrenaline junkie and exhibitionist with an attitude. He causes chaos for the sake of his underground agenda. NSA Agent Gibbons (Samuel L. Jackson) arrests Xander and recruits him to infiltrate the organization of gangster Yorgi (Marton Csokas). He has the background and the attitude to fit in and best of all, he's expendable. Yelena (Asia Argento) is Yorgi's girl assistant. The action is from an inferior Bond movie. The story is convoluted. This is basically paying homage to Bond. At least lots of things blow up. Vin Diesel does have the charisma even if his acting is strictly functional. He shows that he could be a good action hero. He just needs to find the right franchise. This is flashy without the right substance. That seems to be the trademark of director Rob Cohen. There is too much stupidity going on. I don't really like the eurotrash motif. However there are just enough good stuff here to see this as escapist fun.
