This story has more twists and turns than a second-rate soap opera.

Strong acting helps the film overcome an uncertain premise and create characters that hold our attention absolutely.

Great movie. Enjoyed this one from opening to close. Had to laugh at some of the silly liberal agenda stuff like "Down syndrome is not a form of mental retardation". Hahaha. Liberals. Overall a great movie though. The actors worked well together. Good plot moved along nicely by the director. Good messages on dependency and handicapped -- how we all deal with different demons. How we are all projecting a different person to the world than we are inside. The father/daughter tension is great and realistic. The addiction message is on-point. THere are a few cuss words, but otherwise, a good movie for the whole family We enjoyed it. RENT THIS

Well meaning, but not completely satisfying "faith" film about the unlikely friendship between a struggling former major league baseball player and a young man with Down Syndrome. Faith message is actually rather subtle and tastefully done compared to many other films of the genre, and with a PG-13 rating it doesn't shy away from some heavy subjects (alcoholism, prejudice, teen sex and rape). It also features a pair of fine performances from the two leads, Kristoffer Polaha and newcomer David DeSanctis, who have great chemistry together.Where Hope Grows is probably not going to win many converts, but even non Christians will likely enjoy it on the level of an after school special.

I loved this movie! It hits very close to home. I was able to watch the movie in the same theater with the main actors at the premiere and I got to meet them in person. It is an inspirational movie about seeing someone for who they are not what they have. This movie is also about civil rights, equality and valuing people for their abilities. The message that the R word is just as wrong as the N word is long overdue. I hope that movie inspires many to stand up for others! I highly recommend this movie. I hope that it raises awareness about Down Syndrome and acceptance♥ Please go watch this movie and make it a blockbuster!

This movie brought to light how so many treat people with disabilities, and promotes the reality of things that no matter what the difference is, people are people. We all put our pants on 1 leg at a time. I want acceptance for my daughter. There ate no 2 people who are the same. Everyone is unique! I am very thankful that the movie industry is finally bringing things like this to the forefront. Ignorance is the biggest disability. People need to realize that although some people may not "look or act" just like you, they are people too and and have feelings just like you. You may just need to look a little deeper, open your eyes and take in all they have to offer. Look at the ABILITIES and NOT the Disabilities!
