Hellen I like the storyline of this show,it attract me so much
Sexyloutak Absolutely the worst movie.
Roman Sampson One of the most extraordinary films you will see this year. Take that as you want.
Geraldine The story, direction, characters, and writing/dialogue is akin to taking a tranquilizer shot to the neck, but everything else was so well done.
Charles Camp Very twisty giallo that routinely subverted my expectations. The main strengths of the film are its knotty but well-constructed plot, serene locales, and great camerawork. Lots of nice music by Ennio Morricone as well. The film has a stronger focus on the mystery and plot rather than the murders themselves, and is largely populated by dialogue-driven intrigue scenes. I may have liked it a bit more if there had been a greater emphasis on style and atmosphere rather than plot, but that's more a matter of taste than a criticism of the film itself.Strong 3.5/5
christopher-underwood I have seen this before and like several other reviewers, would have considered this a decent enough giallo with low key killings and a disproportionate degree of investigation. NOT SO! Whether my previous views have been on video too dark and degenerated to see properly or that they were cut I'm not sure but this Blu-ray release from Arrow is a revelation. Excellent, tight direction from Massimo Dallamano, helped enormously by Aristide Massaccesi camera-work and marvellous Morricone score. Fabio Testi is great in the central role and is essential to keeping things revolving nicely between all the girls, his wife and the awful killings. Masses of nudity and although we only see one kill (and that comes as a great surprise) we see the aftermath in grisly detail - maybe these shots were simply removed from my early viewing. A very fine giallo, set in England, made with an English dub and a special treat for fans if a bit too strong for newcomers.
jackthehack I love Giallos. They laid the blueprint for the 1980s slasher films. Since I absolutely love slashers, by extension, I am a big fan of Giallos. Apart from Giallos by such top class directors as Dario Argento, Mario Bava and Sergio Martino, "What have you done to Solange?" is a brilliant and sadly overlooked Giallo by Massimo Dallamano.A horny married P.E. instructor(our Hero folks!!), in Catholic Girls' School, Enrico is educating a hot girl, Elizabeth in the ways of love while they are in a boat. Elizabeth sees a vicious murder but Enrico thinks she is playing hard-to-get. But then the body count starts piling up and he finds himself a suspect. The movie's strongest asset apart from the sure-handed direction is the superb score by Ennio Morricone. There is always an air of menace and unease even in well-lit scenes. The film is not as gory as some other Giallos such as Torso, Twitch of the death Nerve, Deep Red but it is no less effective as the "your imagination fills in the blanks" approach works wonders here. There is a lot of nudity though and the manner of murder is pretty disturbing. The film also throws in some swerves which make you uneasy as to whether Enrico and Elizabeth will make it out of the film alive or not. The ending is effective and solves the mystery satisfactorily. The police also do their job really well and are not there to act as Spanner in the works for our protagonists. The film is not perfect. The acting is cheesy and the dubbing is pretty bad especially when you can see the movie is in English. However, if you get past that, you can enjoy the movie for what it is: A superbly crafted murder mystery with a fantastic score and some great cinematography. Highly Recommended!!!
Rindiana Maybe it was inevitable that the German Edgar Wallace movie series found its end in the sleazy folds of the Italian giallo. Both of these whodunit/thriller subgenres share similar trademarks, such as rampant triviality, exploitative and sexist world views, voyeuristic touches, senseless plots and barely adequate acting. The German variant wasn't nearly as explicit and rather amusingly childish, but also lacked the gialli's stylistic flourishes. Here we've got good old reliable Blacky Fuchsberger and the Italian stud Fabio Testi to find out who the brutal girls' killer is and the comparatively tame proceedings are quite entertaining in their stupid fashion. The plot's not as ridiculous as other examples of the genre, but no great shakes either. The direction is rather boring.3 out of 10 peeping school teachers
