Acensbart Excellent but underrated film
ShangLuda Admirable film.
Curapedi I cannot think of one single thing that I would change about this film. The acting is incomparable, the directing deft, and the writing poignantly brilliant.
Numerootno A story that's too fascinating to pass by...
BatBanks Smith The movie is not interest enough (bore and predictable plot), but I watch because it was nothing on TV the other night. Amanda Seyfried still can't act and there is no chemistry between her and the guy who played Vanessa Redgrave moody grandson. There's no character development at every characters. I don't understand why Vanessa Redgrave agreed to appear in this movie. The movie has nice scenery of Italy it makes you desire to visit one day. This movie is sleepover movie for tween & teenage girls.
kdonnellycom This was a really good story, with the added attraction of Vanessa Redgrave and her now-after-a-long-wait husband Franco Nero (Okay, I cheated, Wikipedia), but all the others are so drippy. It could have been a whole lot funnier and snappier. The book was written in 2006, and the movie came out in 2010. Don't these people use the internet?! I'm assuming that is how they found all those Lorenzos, but Sophie only had her laptop open once. Besides the awkward technical details, there is little chemistry between Sophie and Charlie, although we know from the beginning that they will get together. One hates to blame the director, as he died not long afterwards at the tragically young age of 49, but it just doesn't hang together as well as it could have. Makes me want to read the non-fiction book. And watch Redgrave and Nero in Camelot again...
eklavya cwk Never ever I have felt that any love story is able to be filmed or dramatized in movies properly, leave perfectly. But letters to Juliet is one movie that still not perfect nor even proper but did turned out to be allowing me to enjoy thoroughly.Simplicity, beauty, small points consideration...pick points are most important characteristics that made it an amazing movie. caution.....it seems that surly Hollywood-ised folks ain't gonna much enjoy it and hence a lower rating is expected but may be Bollywood lovers or Bollywood customers will enjoy it. Nothing special in this movie except simple new story and beautifully filmed. So I would recommend this movie to be tried and I am sure one will enjoy it and at least feel entertained. although 8/10 is much higher rating but still its fair as far as love stories or romantic dramas are considered.
Isabella Wijsman If you haven't seen this movie yet, shame on you! Don't even bother reading through reviews, just buy it and start watching because I promise you, after 1 minute, you're hooked. From the moment this movie begins, it takes you in. You get drawn into the story of life and finding that thing we search for the most: love. The characters in this movie are so well played and the chemistry with the three leads makes you want to get on a plane and visit Italy straight away. I say this because you want to experience that magic of the country yourself and maybe on the way find love as well. You can almost feel the thrill when knocking on a door and waiting for it to open. The feeling that you could be one second away from seeing that person again after so long and wondering if you still recognize each other. Imagine you would write Juliet a letter, left it on the wall and 50 years later got a reply. This movie leaves me with a question every time, because in the old days, people fell in love and if that didn't work out well, they would live their whole life with ache in their heart for the love they lost or couldn't have. We on the other hand, in our modern world with all kinds of ways to communicate with each other would not hesitate to give up on someone after a few months or years. But, had you lived back then, what would you do if after all those years, you got a reply. Ask yourself, what would I do? Still reading this? Stop right now and press play because you already wasted a few minutes of time!
