BootDigest Such a frustrating disappointment
ThrillMessage There are better movies of two hours length. I loved the actress'performance.
Juana what a terribly boring film. I'm sorry but this is absolutely not deserving of best picture and will be forgotten quickly. Entertaining and engaging cinema? No. Nothing performances with flat faces and mistaking silence for subtlety.
Marva It is an exhilarating, distressing, funny and profound film, with one of the more memorable film scores in years,
ropinghorse After failing to apprehend the terrorist behind a Paris attack that claimed dozens of lives, CIA agent Alice Racine is forced to live in London as a caseworker. Running for her life, she turns to a former soldier to help her prevent a lethal biological attack on the citizens of London.
liftedff Netflix and Amazon have both been making their own series and full length films for years now, but some of netflix's offerings in full length films have felt of B quality for one reason or another. Be it the script or effects or acting...not this one. "Unlocked" offers a great spy/terror plot movie with some new twists. A pretty good script carried by a great cast and performances combined with good effects and production value to score what I would call a hit. Not quite as engaging or epic as movies like "The Sum of All Fears" for example, but it didn't have to be, and was much better than many of the recent spy movies that have been churned out recently. Best spy movie ever, no of course not. But if you want good plot, mixed with good action, and enough twists to keep you at least leaning forward in your seat then this is a film that well worth your time.
adonis98-743-186503 A CIA interrogator is lured into a ruse that puts London at risk of a biological attack. Noomi Rapace fails to be believable as a CIA interrogator, Michael Douglas was there for the Cash and Orlando Bloom should stick on making POTC Movies or LOTR Prequels. Unlocked is a terrible action film from start to finish. (0/10)
davideo-2 STAR RATING: ***** Saturday Night **** Friday Night *** Friday Morning ** Sunday Night * Monday MorningGovernment Agent Alice Racine (Noomi Rapace) is still haunted by a terrorist atrocity that occurred several years ago that she blames herself for. However, her mentor Eric Lasch (Michael Douglas) persuades her to return to active duty to deal with the case of a London Imam who is apparently using young couriers to rendezvous with others to commit terrorist acts. However, after a subject is apprehended, she is plunged into a nightmarish scenario, unable to tell friend from foe, along with mysterious former marine Jack Alcott (Orlando Bloom) who she first meets breaking into her home. This current affairs themed thriller was received in a lukewarmish way and disappeared from theatres pretty quickly in the UK. Seasoned director Michael Apted has assembled an all star cast, of varying new and old talent, in a suspense tale torn from today's headlines. As is the way, the older, more established talent, including John Malkovich and Toni Collette, are pushed to the side in favour of the younger talent, although even the still fairly fresh Bloom takes a good three quarters of an hour or so to make his appearance. It's an intricate tale, full of twists and turns, red herrings and double crosses, and on this front, Apted has done a good job. But while it's not unthrilling, it's just never as suspenseful or exciting as it wants to be, and can never claim to have you on the edge of your seat. By the end, it's gotten a little carried away with itself, and just become too convoluted to have any effect. By the end, everything's not become unlocked so much as mildly unscrambled. If you fancy putting your mind to good use, it's a fairly rewarding way to spend an hour and a half or so, but if you watch it more than once, you must have very strange tastes. ***
