Michael Ledo "Ticket Out" and "Breakout" are the same US TV film. Jocelyn (Alexandra Breckenridge) divorces her husband Dennis (Billy Burke) who she claims abuses her and the son. With no evidence, the judge in town Dennis' family owns, grants joint custody. Jocelyn is offered help by Jim (Ray Liotta) who gets them out of town with dreams of Canada.Made for TV quality. Twist that wasn't that great. Acting and script sub-par.
dorrancebrezina-95031 I really enjoyed this film. The cast was great. Billy Burke played Dennis, the abusive, angry father very well. Alexandra Breckenridge (Jocelyn) was also great. She embodied a desperate, grief-stricken, battered wife who knew she had to do anything to protect her children. Last, but not least, while Ray Liota's acting was great, his character was a little confusing. As I understand, he was a bounty hunter who was hired by a governmental agency to capture fugitives. From what I understand he pretended to look out for Jocelyn and her children, even to the point of potentially becoming a love interest for her, but eventually betraying her and bringing her back to Dennis. I don't understand why, when he had the chance, he didn't surrender her to Dennis.I was also disappointed with the ending, as viewers were left hanging and with many questions.I gave the film 8 stars because I would watch it again but was left wondering a lot.
T. Williams Mis-cast, poor writing, weak, predictable story line, poor directing, poor cinematography, and NO redeeming qualities. Non-realistic or believable plot. Scenery was portrayed as Missouri but was no where near MO which only furthered the disbelief of this film. Disjointed and amateurish. Far too many non-realistic things done by some of the characters. And the list goes on and on and on. Liotta was the ONLY recognizable personality in the movie and the others have not been seen since, nor should they be based on the performances in this movie. Why Ray Liotta would stoop to signing-up for such a dog is beyond me. This was a poor b-rated attempt at a movie. Don't bother wasting your time or money on this one.
Cedric_Catsuits This is slightly better than the average score suggests. The only thing that really lets it down is the ending - the audience is left hanging and I hate that. Why bother to tell a story and then deprive us of a satisfactory ending? This really seems to be a problem with film makers, they just seem incapable of rounding things off properly.Other than that I have no real complaints. It has a slight TV Movie feel to it but the leads are very good, and the kids perfectly adequate. The story is interesting if not fully explored, and it moves along at a decent pace. There are a couple of silly moments slotted in for dramatic effect, but they don't overshadow the plot.Anyway the moral of this story is if you have to go on the run, don't take kids with you. And of course the law is an ass, but then we all knew that.Worth a viewing if you're not too critical.
