Synopsis

The evil wizard Gargamel creates a couple of mischievous Smurf-like creatures called the Naughties that he hopes will let him harness the all-powerful, magical Smurf-essence. But when he discovers that only a real Smurf can give him what he wants, and only a secret spell that Smurfette knows can turn the Naughties into real Smurfs, Gargamel kidnaps Smurfette and brings her to Paris, where he has been winning the adoration of millions as the world¹s greatest sorcerer. It's up to Papa, Clumsy, Grouchy, and Vanity to return to our world, reunite with their human friends Patrick and Grace Winslow, and rescue her! Will Smurfette, who has always felt different from the other Smurfs, find a new connection with the Naughties Vexy and Hackus or will the Smurfs convince her that their love for her is True Blue?

AniInterview Sorry, this movie sucks
Nonureva Really Surprised!
Rijndri Load of rubbish!!
FirstWitch A movie that not only functions as a solid scarefest but a razor-sharp satire.
divyanka This was a pretty good movie with emotional scenes and sweet, loving messages. It was refreshing to see that all the 'male' Smurfs loved Smurfette as a sister, instead of some trashy, lusty bullshit* usually seen in movies. The plot was interesting and original. It was interesting how three wrong Smurfs went with the old Smurf to find Smurfette, rather than the original three chosen. But there could have been more attention on the three Smurfs and how they contributed to the mission. More attention was on Smurfette and the two evil step-siblings. The show was funny, interesting, and calm. It wasn't too complicated and meant for relaxation. *7/10*
SnoopyStyle Gargamel (Hank Azaria) is now a world famous magician. He has created two darker version of Smurfs called Naughties named Vexy and Hackus. Meanwhile Smurfette has doubts about her personality since she was originally created by Gargamel. Papa Smurf had changed her from a Naughtie to a Smurf with a secret spell. Gargamel needs that spell to create real Smurfs to harness the powerful Smurf essence. Gargamel sends Vexy to kidnap Smurfette. Papa Smurf and others return to the real world to rescue Smurfette with the help of Patrick (Neil Patrick Harris), Grace (Jayma Mays) and Victor (Brendan Gleeson). It's marginally better than the first movie. I like that evil Gargamel is driving the story. Hank Azaria is a good Gargamel. I still wouldn't recommend this for anybody other than little kids. Also I'm not sure why Brendan Gleeson is in this. I would have thought they would add a broad comedian for comic relief instead and then they turn him into a duck. I still wish the Smurfs stay in the forest. They could make it a magical forest. The real world somehow diminishes them not just because of their size.
Gordon-11 The first Smurfs film must have been entertaining, as I rated it a seven. This Smurfs film, however, isn't all that good at all. The plot is too unbelievable to start with. Am I really expected to believe that Parisians flock to see the evil magician in a show? Would anyone not be alarmed that someone got turned into a duck? Aside from that, the adults in the film are acting too young for their age. I know this is a children's film, but still the filmmakers should make it entertaining for adults too. Fortunately, the redeeming feature is that the emotional subplot of Smurfette and Patsy wishing to have a family, and hence their bonding, is quite touching. If not for that, I would have found "The Smurfs 2" a wreck to watch.
cricket crockett . . . SMURFS 2 does NOT feature any spinning whirly-gigs attached to the character voiced by Perry--Smurfette--'s Whatzits (unlike the concert movie she released earlier in the year). Besides the relative restraint in Smurfette's wardrobe, this film features another passable lead acting performance by Mr. Krinkle as Azrael (Gargamel's cat). While it is true Frank Welker dubs in most of Azrael's vocalizations, I suspect that Mr. Krinkle's acting abilities would stand head and shoulders above the rest of the cast even without the interference of the Loop Group. Jimmy Kimmel is typecast here as the voice of the Passive-Aggressive Smurf, and the same can be said for most of the other questionable Smurf voice "talent," including X Games vet Shaun White as Crazy Smurf, offender registry stalwart Paul Ruebens as Jokey Smurf, one-time NBA genii Shaquille O'Neal as Smooth Smurf (say THAT 10 times fast!), tool guy Jeff Foxworthy as Handy Smurf, and so on. If you're not already in a persistent vegetative state, SMURFS 2 just might do the trick!
