Acensbart Excellent but underrated film
Spidersecu Don't Believe the Hype
ThedevilChoose When a movie has you begging for it to end not even half way through it's pure crap. We've all seen this movie and this characters millions of times, nothing new in it. Don't waste your time.
Arianna Moses Let me be very fair here, this is not the best movie in my opinion. But, this movie is fun, it has purpose and is very enjoyable to watch.
AlexanderExtazy Title says it all...The Costa Del Sol (Marbella) setting in those 80's were astonishing. I could never ask for a better movie setting to go along with a scarface dreamer film. The acting wasn't perfect, but I mostly admired the story.. and that same story is true on the count of many organized crime figures who flew from the UK, Scandinavia, and Russia to avoid persecution & extradition. What I mostly love about the film is that during the period where it's supposed to be portrayed (80's), this is actually the golden age of Marbella. If you go there now, it's filled with English, Scandinavian and Russian drunks who have exploited this city for it's treasures and not only that.. but they are still residing in it.. only true beauty to Costa del Sol at this moment is to buy a multi million euro mansion there and enjoy the scenery.Other than that, The Business can show you a great deal of the kind of heaven Marbella was.
FlashCallahan Frankie, a young lad on the run from the ghetto of South London, plans his escape and the beginnings of a new life in sunny Costa Del Sol. With nothing but cash stashed in his luggage he heads off, and has no idea that this sum of money will catapult him into the seductive world of ex-gangster Charlie. Before he knows it Frankie's got more then he bargained for - he's one of Charlie's gang and the world of organised crime......You know from looking at the one sheet if you will like this movie or not. Danny Dyer and the quote, from the director of the football factory. Some people would have balked at the idea of seeing this movie. But then some people deny themselves a guilty pleasure, because they want to look/sound more intelligent than they. Well you go and sit in Costa coffee with your copy if the telegraph and be bored, I'll get entertained for ninety minutes. And the film is a pleasure to watch. Its total fluff from beginning to end, but the music is brilliant, the sets and costumes spot on, and Dyer puts in a decent performance. It's the old age story of a boy wanting to be somebody, gets a chance, lives the high-life a bit, and then loses its all. Plain and simple. If you know the films of Nick Love, and Dyer and Hassan's movie, you'll know the film inside out before even opening the seal on the Blu Ray.It looks great, and even though it is a load of old cobblers owing a lot to Goodfellas, Scarface, and many other crime movies, owe yourself a bit of pleasure.Welcome to the pleasuredome......
amf33 This has to be one of my favourite films ever, Danny gorgeous Dyer and his good friend Tamear hussain team up in Nick loves brilliantly filmed the business, love the eighties any way and it was my era but the music the clothes and the cars in the film bring the memories flooding back of carefree happy days, Just like the film ,great direction and superbly acted through out this film is the best! superb casting for the characters who are all portrayed to an high standard, plenty of nutters in the film which always helps some great lines and action seated with humour and true reality of drugs and the vapours given from them.Would recommend any body to buy this film and would also defy them not to like it.
li-findlay After watching this film for the first time (and it's been about10 or 11 times now) I became such a sucker for Danny Dyer! The bloke is amazing! He has such a presence in this film that I have become devoted to seeing every movie of his from now on (some not so good). This film is so class that I watched it twice in a row once. Never a dull moment and so many one-liners you'll have yourself in stitches! The cast consists of most of the Brit flick regulars including Danny, Dyer, Geoff Bell, Tamer Hassan and Roland Manookian (in a small but memorable role) - so you won't be disappointed! Defintitely worth a watch (or two or three)!! There is always a movie in an actor's career that generates a new-found respect for them... This is the one for Danny!
