SanEat A film with more than the usual spoiler issues. Talking about it in any detail feels akin to handing you a gift-wrapped present and saying, "I hope you like it -- It's a thriller about a diabolical secret experiment."

paulclaassen Although the film is a bit slow-moving, it feels as if this adds to the desperation and hopelessness the parents of the missing children are going through. Very good acting from especially Joseph Fiennes and Nicole Kidman.

dgar1948 I liked the movie. It was kind of slow and confusing at times but overall a good movie. I imagine people living in a small isolated town like that one would be a little weird, so isolated. Looked like it was Mars. Nicole Kidman was great I thought the way she portrayed the distraught mom with a past of her own. The ending was disappointing I thought, left you hanging. What happened to Lily? Was she murdered, Did Burtie kill her, was her body out there somewhere, did the unknown driver of the car her brother saw take her to where the concert was going to be held? And if she did go with him why did they leave the boy out there to die? A few questions unanswered in that movie but maybe that's the way the producers wanted it. Now I'm going to wonder forever if Lily died or went to another town. Good movie though.

Gordon-11 This film tells the story of a family that moves to a small town to escape from a dark past. Unfortunately their children goes missing, and in the search, it seems everyone has something to hide."Strangerland" depicts a mother who is in much distraught over the disappearance of her children. Nicole Kidman is very convincing as a very distressed mother, I empathise with her and feel so sorry for her pain and loss. The father, on the other hand, has a different approach to the circumstances, creating a stark contrast. The hunt for the missing children is long and less than fruitful, engaging me and making me hope for something good would happen soon. I think it's a heavy film with a heartbreaking and depressing story.

NetJon The story moves very slowly.The characters are irritating, but not in a way that gets us somewhere.The overall plot is not in any fashion fulfilling.Someone said that the cinematography and the acting were good.Whatever.There needs to be a story worth watching as well.This lacks that.Who knows. If you have some other motive that wanting an interesting story for watching this maybe you'll like it.I didn't.My recommendation: watch something else.
