ShangLuda Admirable film.
Neive Bellamy Excellent and certainly provocative... If nothing else, the film is a real conversation starter.
Derick I am a big Sci-fi fan and love the last people on earth plot lines in any movie. When I first started watching this one I could see where the reviews came from for low budget and even some with poor acting comments. The beginning is a bit slow and sometimes disappointing. I feel the beginning helps set the feeling of what they are now up against with all the training and planning that brings them all to this juncture. But trust me it will pick up. Especially when they decide to explore. I recognized most of the main characters so I felt I should stick with it to see where it goes. They have been in better movies and are in this one. They had to see something. Well the last 30 minutes of the movie really make the watching worth while. I wish it would of been a bit longer. Now understand it is still not a blockbuster but for entertainment value and story line I was very satisfied. If you liked the movie Moon, Silent Running, and Robinson Crusoe on Mars this may fit your taste.
pahaake Don't listen the haters. Although I think Gallo is a terrible actor and about as annoying as Gilbert Godfried (sp?) this is actually a very good film.I'm guessing that some voices were dubbed and some not, hard to tell from the version I caught on Showtime. Without spoiling too much, this movie pretty much hits it all - the life / death choice dilemma, aliens, life on other planets, some pretty great sci-fi mixed with a decent drama.Don't let any of the negatives put you off - and don't stop watching it because the start is slow. Once it picks up you'll be very glad you kept watching.
chalimac-1 This might sound far-fetched, but this movie in its naturalistic dialogs and desperate setting is one of the best renditions in space of the crazy but humanistic spirit of nineteenth century explorers. The drive to push human boundaries step by step has seldom been captured in such a pure form in cinema. In some ways it reminds me of Tarkovsky's Stalker. The landscape are the gorgeous and alien-like scenes in Lanzarote. The actors are fantastic (even the dubbing problems due to the different nationalities add an extra layer of resemblance to a joint international mission)
Rokashevich Where have I been since 2002? This is an excellent movie for space-freaks like I am. This is a believable movie. Not a tale. Not an artificial fantastic. Not a too complicated drama/thriller. This is be-live-able! This is true! This is real story! (Ah, of course, not, but seems-seems so!) It do shocked me! It will do shock you. Definitеly. Believe. Not to spoil, it is about five astronauts came into trouble while First Man Landing on the surface of red planet. They crashed, their space ship is broken, they have tiny floor, tiny ceiling, four tiny walls, they have air and food resources only for a about a year. A lot of time to organize a rescue expedition? Do you really think that it will be organized? This is nowadays, The Earth-Mars flight is twenty six months long, and, fairly, there is no point in any rescue expedition. And they know it. But don't want to believe. To live! And what will they do?.. And, ah, a mystery! And, ah, the very final scene!
