Smartorhypo Highly Overrated But Still Good

Arianna Moses Let me be very fair here, this is not the best movie in my opinion. But, this movie is fun, it has purpose and is very enjoyable to watch.

AlanTHoleman This movie is a welcome addition to the superhero and film noir genres. The depth of characters and detailed plot lines leave the viewer satisfied yet wanting more. After an initial viewing, I immediately wanted to watch it again. There is much to take in and absorb which, to me, has always been the sign of a great film.Chase Williamson was spectacular as the brooding Ian Sparks. By the way, I think "Ian Sparks" is my favorite superhero moniker ever. It is so fun to watch brilliant actors such as Clancy Brown (Shawshank Redemption), Jake Busey (Starship Troopers), and the wonderful William Katt (Carrie). They help drive this film with their familiarity but also with new twists.Sparks is a graphic novel brought to life. It can be dark at times and continues in the tortured superhero realm. However, this film also has great humor and snappy dialogue that set it apart from other superhero movies. I definitely recommend this not only to fans of noir but to anyone who appreciates a fun, smart film.

markbarner I can't believe how lame and almost childish this movie and the lines are! The visual effects are such a disappointment and the story, scenes, sound is just not worth wasting time on. At first I thought they style of the movie was pretty cool - the colors and the old school color grading was interesting but as the effects and most of all the lines where so bad that it then it ruined everything for me! It looked a little like Sin-City but that just isn't enough to make a good movie.Don't waste your time with this movie - it's not 5 stars worth watching and as it seems childish it's still too violent for children to watch. Too bad it could have had potential.

damian_hockey Has a sin city dark gritty feel to it. But don't compare any of the story to sin city Poorly written. The story although makes sense could use a lot of improvement, the story seemed to drag forever and there was an odd shift in pace through out the story Bad character development. I didn't find myself caring much for any of the characters. Seen as the characters had no real emotional keys that i liked Bad acting, Except from some key actors Clancy Brown / Jake Busey Nice graphical styling although some of the Cgi was a little poor in places Not much of a quality soundtrack All in all sparks scores a low 4 out of 10

harahauk This is just my two cents and not an attempt at writing a pro review. I was ready for this movie to be a piece of crap, so I got pleasantly surprised. I think the plot was great and the costumes was corny as hell - which threw me off a bit in the beginning (that and the lead up to the main storyline which was confusing as to where we we're going). But it soon became apparent to be that i had stumbled into a old school noir movie which isn't about polished superheroes, but "normal" people trying to make a difference. It still has the usual good vs evil with a hint of romance in it, with a red line that keeps you interested throughout the film. People who say this is the worst crap they have seen must be watching only the best there is. Overall a decent flick.
