Reviews

Cathardincu Surprisingly incoherent and boring
JinRoz For all the hype it got I was expecting a lot more!
Hayden Kane There is, somehow, an interesting story here, as well as some good acting. There are also some good scenes
Lucia Ayala It's simply great fun, a winsome film and an occasionally over-the-top luxury fantasy that never flags.
rockoandbill The movie was completely misleading and the bonus material confirmed my impression that it was a rip-off of Joeseph Conrad's Heart Of Darkness ,the River is replaced by a road and the boat becomes a Jeep and Walter Kurtz is Osama. The claims made on the outside of the DVD box was overt fraud totake this fabricated death of a Journalist and present it as factualwhile some portions have Muslims supporting the 9/11 attacks for the USA's treatment of Muslims around the world .I alerted the Video store that the movie should be removed from their "Documentary" section and be placed in the War-drama area for quasi fictional accounts of actual events.
hupfons5 Harrowing, obsessive quest of a photojournalist in lawless Afghanistan. Although it's a movie, it seems like a documentary. The on-site filming and the use of actual Afghan police and other locals heighten the documentary "look & feel" of the movie. The Dolby/DTS 5.1 soundtrack during the gun battle and the chase scenes will have you feeling like ducking for cover from the bullets and rockets. You'll hear the rockets whoosh from your front to rear speakers and then explode behind you. You'll hear the bullets whiz from L to R and front to rear speakers. The explosion of the 2,000 lb bomb" will give your sub-woofer a resounding workout. The final scene sheds welcome light on the main character's relentless pursuit of Osama Bin Laden. In the DVD release, the Director's Commentary and the MAKING OF features are well WORTH watching too -- very enlightening and entertaining.
heybobbo I watched the first 15 minutes, thinking it was a real documentary (with an irritatingly overly dramatic "on camera" producer). When I realized it was all staged I thought "why would I want to waste my time watching this junk??" So I turned it off and came online to warn other people. The characters don't act in a believable way. too much immature emotion. for a guy to travel half way around the world into a war torn country, he acted like a kid. and I don't believe it was because "his character was so upset about the trade center bombings".very trite and stupid.have you seen "city of lost children"? french dark fantasy film about a guy who kidnaps kids and steals their dreams... I liked it!
Ben Phillips (bcphilli) It's sad, but as much as I respect our troops I'm getting really tired of every army, marine, this or that commenting on war movies (i.e. jarhead) just because they were in the service. When you go to film school and study film, than I will listen to you. This film is full of suspense, and in my beliefs "humanizes" to an extent the conflict in the middle east. Although the acting is not always top notch and neither is the dialog, the film truly picks up speed and ends on a high note. Most "war" films are seen from the large, forceful perspective of the U.S. Armed forces. This film however, really makes you see the little guy and the U.S. army is that witch is obscured. Definitely worth the money.
