dprkforum This movie, as with almost all movies of this type, is not meant to be thought-provoking, intelligent, logical, or based in reality. If these are the things you are looking for, this movie will be terribly disappointing. However, if you are looking for skin, there is plenty here, but just enough not go beyond a heavy-R rating. In this day and age, this kind of movie is probably a dying genre.As a younger guy with little recourse, these movies were the way to go. They were considered "comedies" and I could rent them with a slight snicker from the clerk. That, and as a teen with percolating hormones, I was not allowed to venture to the section "behind the curtain". So movies like Screwballs it was.Watching this movie again, it takes me way back, and nothing more. I would not recommend this to anybody other than that purpose.

Scarecrow-88 The school jock(Peter Keleghan as Rick), rich Lothario(Kent Deuters as Brent), nerd(Alan Deveau as Howie), tubby masturbator(Jason Warren as Melvin), and new arrival(Jim Coburn as Tim) all partake in a quest to either score with or see the breasts of Homecoming Queen and high school virgin, Purity Busch(Linda Speciale).Purity is a rabble rouser who likes to stir up trouble for the hormonal boys of her school who get all hot and bothered for the opposite sex. Purity knows she's desirable and that all the boys wish to have her as a conquest, so this is used as a tool to tease and antagonize. In other words, Purity uses her virginity and seductive charms as a weapon against the horny males. But, our gang will pull out all the stops in order to see those tits once and for all, even if they can not lay claim to having bed her.Raunchy and spirited, unsubtle sex comedy, with plenty of lewd content, aimed almost exclusively at the Porky's crowd. Like Porky's, "Screwballs" is set somewhat in the 50's, with flaws in it's attempts to evoke that period elaborately. Almost entirely made up of little vignettes dedicated to unleashing sexual innuendo and cheeky, hearty humor about teens and their ribald antics involving all matters involving naked girls and making out. But, getting even with Purity is of definite importance as each male tries his own strategy, most of the time failing in their individual efforts, coming together at the end to develop one last attempt, taking place at the Homecoming basketball game. Such hi-jinx include strip bowling, a function turned upside down when punch is accidentally spiked with Spanish fly, a trip for the boys to a strip club, Rick's numerous disguises(..a doc examining school girls' breasts, dressed in drag as a Home Economics teacher), Howie's various tricks(..read from books)which backfire(..such as a mirror gag and poolside fiasco attempting to use hypnotism which ends miserably for him), Brent's disastrous near-tryst with his hot Biology teacher, and a drive-in movie which turns into a riot after Tim finds that Brent is making a move on his sister. Co-writer Linda Shayne(..as Bootsie Goodhead), all smiles, gets carried away(..and I wouldn't have it any other way), in her role as a free spirited, enthusiastic, and sexually liberated teen(..the movie's tone matches her personality). Shayne, who is quite yummy, even sacrifices nudity in an embarrassing gag for her character after her skirt gets caught in a van door, her breasts pressed against the vehicle's window! Speciale is perfectly cast as the object of desire, and she is quite the nice bit of eye candy, particularly in her two piece, white bikini. The sequence, I reckon which will remain a memorable moment in the film, is when a bowling ball gets caught on Howie's pecker.

Schlockmeister You don't go into this one expecting Shakespeare, folks. You expect first off, a little skin, and if you are lucky, a lot of skin. You expect broad locker-room type sex jokes. You expect that someone will be sexually humiliated at some point ( a must in the genre ). You expect all the cliques at your high school to be wildly parodied. You expect teachers to be portrayed as Nazis. You go in expecting all this and this film delivers. This movie was made just before video broke big time. Thsi was one of the early hits and many video hounds from way back can fondly look back as this being a rental they enjoyed. Check brain at the door and enjoy. It's all done in s spirit of goofy sexy fun and that is the spirit it needs to be seen in. Would make a great double feature with "Porky's".

jaws! as i said in the other comment screwballs is one of myfavorite movies of all time. mainly because of how funny,and entertaining it is. screwballs is the best sexcomedy of all time! i grew-up on watching this movie. eventhough i couldn't understand a lot of jokes i still forsome reason liked it back then. now i understand all thejokes,and laugh at all of them. it's a movie set in the1960s. the movie is about five guys at a high school fullof weird,and sex-craved people. the five guys kind of makea pact to get a shot at the only virgin in their high school. purity bush in all her glory. the five guys arepretty much all different. they include a guy who's alwaysbouncing a small ball on the ground where ever he goes,aguy who's always carrying around a tennis racket,an overweight guy who's always masturbating,a nerdy guy who'salways scaming ways to look under girl's dresses or to getthem to fall for him in weird ways. and finally a new guyin school who's really not much of a stereotype. all thecharacters are very funny. they all try to get a shot at purity. every time they try to get her is very funny.it's not for everyone,but it's a must-see for anymore wholoves sex comedies. i give screwballs ***1/2 out of ****
