Steineded How sad is this?
Maleeha Vincent It's funny, it's tense, it features two great performances from two actors and the director expertly creates a web of odd tension where you actually don't know what is happening for the majority of the run time.
Isbel A terrific literary drama and character piece that shows how the process of creating art can be seen differently by those doing it and those looking at it from the outside.
Caryl It is a whirlwind of delight --- attractive actors, stunning couture, spectacular sets and outrageous parties. It's a feast for the eyes. But what really makes this dramedy work is the acting.
BlaZing BenJy just awful!!!!! Worst Bollywood movie ever!! I'm sorry, but the story line is so twisted around that i literally had a vertigo!! I'm sorry for Katrina i love her so much(i gave 2 just because of Katrina otherwise big 0)! it was so regretful watching the movie, total wastage of time
GaneshKSalian Race directed by Abbas-Mustan is an entertaining weekend watch. It has a good story to offer and lots of exciting twist and turns which makes it entertaining.Story:- Based in Durban, Ranvir Singh (Saif Ali Khan) lives a very wealthy lifestyle along with his slacker and alcoholic brother, Rajiv (Akshaye Khanna), and runs a stud farm. He is in love with Sonia and both hope to get married. When Ranvir introduces Sonia (Bipasha Basu) to Rajiv, he falls in love with her, and Ranvir decides to let them get married on the condition that he gives up alcohol. When Rajiv promises, the marriage takes place. Their stud farm undergoes a major financial crisis when their rival, Kabir Ahuja (Dalip Tahil), scores at the races, and Ranvir mortgages most of his assets just to survive. Unfortunately, Rajiv continues to drink, Sonia regrets her decision to get married to him, and starts getting intimate with Ranvir. When Rajiv finds out, he decides to kill himself, but instead Ranvir ends up getting killed.A sharp tongued detective R.D.Costa (Anil Kapoor), getting wise on the proceedings, starts an intriguing investigation with his brainless bimbo assistant Mini (Sameera Reddy). Rajiv and Sonia hope to inherit the estate, but they end up getting quite a shock when Ranvir's Personal Secretary, Sophia (Katrina Kaif), claims that she is Ranvir's wife, and decides to keep the estate to herself.Race,in short,is a entertaining stylish fast-paced thriller. The direction is fine. The dialogs are okay. The music is average. The cinematography by Ravi Yadav is excellent. The locales of Durban are a visual treat! The action scenes by Allan Amin is superb.Performances:- Saif Ali Khan is fine.Akshaye Khanna is very good.Anil Kapoor steals the show with his superb performance.Bipasha Basu is average.Katrina Kaif is okay.Sameera Reddy is bad.Johny Lever is funny.Dalip Tahil is subtle.Overall,Race is an entertaining movie.
M MALIK i mean it from the title of my review and ill say it again that do not take this movie seriously .its hilariously entertaining because it takes it self so serious & let the view ask this question that too many twists and turns in this movie looks like a joke . set in south Africa Race 2008 directed by Abbas & Mustan the Duo Directors from India who are famous for ripping of Hollywood & other world cinema movie & adding their own flavor too it.their are some funny scenes in this movie which makes it interesting to watchstarting Saif Ali khan,Akshaye Khanna,Anil Kapoor & Bipasha this triller movie is about race between 2 brothers for money.one is a business man & one is good for nothing spoiled who is living on his brothers money .what is their story & how it ends you will have to see it i am not telling it. the production was good, acting wise all actors are great but Katrina kaif cant act she is sexy babe . i don't watch any film of her she ruins it don't know why she is in bollywood. story, action, twists in the plot, locations & music ,everything is good but not to be taken seriously it should be enjoyed for what it is & it will be 100 percent enjoyable for the viewers.i watch it for laughing & some time pass & i got entertained.so my rating for this movie is 10/10. don't miss
Peter Young Okay then, yes, Race is another unoriginal work of fiction by the director duo Abbas Mastan. Watching Race, you can't figure who's who, who's supposed to be good, who's supposed to be bad. The plot is incredibly twisted, and it's so unpredictable that you start predicting another twist coming. The movie tries to be very cool with its technical advances, noisy westernised songs and overly glossy costumes, and everyone is made to look overtly sophisticated, able to plan the most complicated of conspiracies. It, however, greatly lacks in substance, and the many twists unfolded throughout the movie become at some point really senseless. But Race is entertaining to an extent, and it can definitely be watched with family and friends. It has comedy and suspense, and it has its share of enjoyable moments. The action is very good, the locations are nice, the girls are hot, the editing is quite slick, and the movie is extremely fast paced. Some of the songs are very good, like "Pehli Nazar Mein Kaisa Jadoo", but most of them sound repetitive and annoying. Saif Ali Khan plays the leading role, and he is required to keep a serious restrained expression throughout the movie, though still he is pretty good. Akshaye Khanna is well miscast. Katrina is just there, and Bipasha has nothing good to do but she looks a million bucks. Anil Kapoor is quite funny in his role. Race is another masala flick. It's pretentious, but as a one-time watch, it's quite okay, particularly if you don't look for logic behind its story.
