I cannot think of one single thing that I would change about this film. The acting is incomparable, the directing deft, and the writing poignantly brilliant.

Prince live in Las Vegas - rather cameral performance, but if you're a fan of this artist, then you'll be more than pleased. We won't hear here the well known hits like "Little Red Corvette", "Kiss" or "When Doves Cry", but for me that was totally O.K. I admire Prince no matter if he's funky, if he plays pop, disco, rock or jazz - it's always the same great Prince. The only thing that I can complain about is the filming - for some reason the video is overexposured and edited in a windows-movie-maker style. And those horrible visualizations - who made those? But nevermind the bad realization - the music is still very enjoyable. So is the show.

Prince's change of attitude in his later years has resulted in boring shows like this where he refuses to play older material. The only stand out in this lackluster production is the Led Zeppelin cover. As for the songs that are here - His newer material (I confess I have lost track, this stuff seems to be from the Musicology Era) all sounds poppy-jazzy-the-same. The Genius seems to be gone. As a long time Prince fan, I was more disappointed than I can properly express. They say Las Vegas is where washed up old Musicians go to die- and this video is an indication that the old adage may be true.

remember when prince used to be fun?the concert has been hack-edited into a barely watchable film, poorly filmed. his incredible prowess as a performer is still there, but his sense of fun for the most part is not. the film might be enjoyed by die hard fans, but it is highly unlikely that anyone that is a casual fan would probably enjoy this or become a die hard fan.i know that much of the concert that was edited it out was the more fun hits stuff that was more lively, but for the life of me can not figure out why this was edited out and the dreary religious content left in.
he's still a genius, yes, but not much fun anymore, sadly.

Once again, Prince proves himself to be the best performer andthe best live performer. In "Live at the Aladdin Las Vegas", Princehas many fans jammin' to the tunes "Pop Life" and other classics. This isn't "Sign 'O' The Times" but Prince still can party like it's1999.
