Contentar Best movie of this year hands down!
Afouotos Although it has its amusing moments, in eneral the plot does not convince.
Catangro After playing with our expectations, this turns out to be a very different sort of film.
Deanna There are moments in this movie where the great movie it could've been peek out... They're fleeting, here, but they're worth savoring, and they happen often enough to make it worth your while.
andosonniamath Sooraj Barjatya is well-known for directing family dramas with blends of comedy and romance. His films were considered legends because apart from all the films containing violence and blood, SB changed the trend of dealing with family issues which is why he directed Maine Pyar Kiya and HAHK. Now onto Hum Saath Saath Hain. SB comes back directing family films with this one and well lets just start with the synopsis.Ram-kishen (Alok Nath) along with Mamta (Reema Lagoo) have 3 sons Vivek (Mohnish Behl), Prem (Salman Khan) and Vinod (Saif Ali Khan) and a daughter Sangeeta (Neelam Kothari) who loves not just their parents but the entire family. During the movie, Vivek marries Sadhana (Tabu), Prem gets engaged to Preeti (Sonali Bendre), and Vinod gets engaged to Sapna (Karishma Kapoor). Ramkishen appoints Vivek as Managing Director of his factory in which causes rifts and conflicts to the entire family. Mamta is taken to confidence by her friends to separate the brothers which angers Ramkishen, Sadhana overhears this and Vivek decides to go to Rampur and make Prem the managing director. Prem however is unhappy with the new decision and vows not to marry unless Vivek and Sadhana return home. Actually there is a lot more plot holes and story twists in the film which is more to explain in which cannot be explained more. Barjatya keeps adding more twists in the film which are great but not able to draw away from the flaws of the film. Now onto the performances. Alok Nath and Reema are okay as the parents. out of the female leads in the film, Karishma kapoor overshadows them with her experience of comedy. Salman khan is okay. Saif Ali Khan impresses with his flair of comedy as his chemistry with Kapoor is the best part of the movie. However, the scene-stealer of the film is Mohnish Behl as he delivers one of his best yet restraining performances. Rest of the cast were great especially seeing Shakti Kapoor back with his comedic talent. Music was okay. "Mhare Hidhwa" is the best song of the film. This movie is flawed because of the screenplay and dialogues. The lead actors barely even say anything. Why would they? There are too many actors in the film. Take some members out and the movie would be much betterHSSH would be a better film without too many actors and more dialogues for the leads. Overall if you're looking for a movie without violence, sex, gore, blood and guns, then this movie is perfect for you.
Peter Young Sooraj R. Barjatya's Hum Saath-Saath Hain is another Hum Aapke Hain Koun, and while it is enjoyable to an extent, it is one of the most saccharine films you'll see. It is a nice, positive film, there are no villains as such, it is musically abundant, it has cliché and melodrama, and it has an all-star cast. During the first half, all of them smile endlessly while someone performs a song, they have fun, they live happily together, and all is blissful. The second half is, in a most predictable way, a melodrama of sorts. In all seriousness, there are so many characters in this big wide family that throughout the film I got confused as to who's who and how exactly they're related. But then, the film's success lies in the fact that nothing really is intended to be too serious or heavy. It's extremely outdated, particularly when watched today, but it's also quite light and feel-good. The dialogue never sounds particularly real or convincing, but while the film is slightly boring at times, it's never tedious. I give it credit because at times it is very entertaining, and several sequences are sheer fun to watch. The song numbers are colourful and I particularly enjoyed Saif and Karisma's spoof on different popular Hindi songs, although the family's reactions got on my nerves. The "ABC" number is extremely silly and childish, yet amusing and nice. The acting is suitable for the film, and no one is challenged with a great part. The girls look pretty, the guys are good with Saif doing the best job, and the rest of the cast are either mere shadows or caricatures. Hum Saath-Saath Hain is theatrical and typically sugarcoated, at times to the extent of being unintentionally funny, but it is a decent one-time watch for lovers of Hindi movies.
zakali4u I loved this film it just the right amount of substance of everything...The characters and acting was just what i needed to see.M. Bahl superb, S Khan, Great, SA Khan wonderful, K Kapoor Tremendous, S. Bendre Amazing TABU was great addition, I'm glad Madhuri did not star she would have spoilt it... Suttle all through this film so much emotion... love comedy anger fear happiness...Just the right balance.I loved Maine Pyar Kiya. Hated Hum aapke Hai Kaun. I Loved this film.Family saga with actors acting brilliantly thats rare in bollywood.. We usually stick a star or model in and let their name sell the movie but the actors have sold this movie. People like Shah Rukh Khan Madhuri Aishwaria would have made increased the revenue in the first day because of their status and their acting ability or lack of it would have sank it...When are we seeing the next oneI cant wait to see the original cast of Rajshiri Productions to do magic again I hope people of this films can be put in a film again...
hsshmillenium This film was very good. The fact that a lot people didn't like it was becuase it was too much compared to recent super hits such as Kuch kuch Hota Hai. This is a one of a kind as is every other film. the songs were superb, especially "Mhare Hiwda Mein" Sooraj Barjatay once again has made us proud. Well done.
