AutCuddly Great movie! If you want to be entertained and have a few good laughs, see this movie. The music is also very good,
Dirtylogy It's funny, it's tense, it features two great performances from two actors and the director expertly creates a web of odd tension where you actually don't know what is happening for the majority of the run time.
Usamah Harvey The film's masterful storytelling did its job. The message was clear. No need to overdo.
Taha Avalos The best films of this genre always show a path and provide a takeaway for being a better person.
Horst in Translation (filmreviews@web.de) This seems to be a fitting descriptions for pretty much all the very long music videos by Michael Jackson. Regardless of what you may think of him as an artist, he just does not have it as an actor or as a writer. Jackson contributed a lot to the script here and Stephen king was in the boat as well, but if Martin Scorsese cannot get a great film out of the late Jackson, then neither can visual effects legend Stan Winston. It's basically all the same as always. Jackson is full of himself and has a screenplay that lets him appear like some sort of messiah for the entire thing and if he wasn't already enough in the main role, he basically plays everybody with a slight ounce of importance during these 40 minutes. The genre is also the same as always, supernatural, fantasy, science-fiction, horror etc. His music videos really all look the same sort-of. I am yet to see one that has a truly convincing story and does not get lost in a torrent of make-up, visual effects and general over-the-topness all over the place. And what's even worse is that in "Ghosts" from almost 20 years ago the music is not even particularly convincing. Not recommended.
Payback1016 With the horrifically funny writing of Stephen King and the Make up/special fx and direction of Stan Winston (fx work of terminator abyss and Jurassic park) plus the creativity and dance moves of the King of pop, you are in for a treat this Halloween. In this movie Michael Jackson plays both the good guy and bad guy when he plays both a magician who entertains kids and adults alike by scaring them with his cool yet gory magic tricks that would make the Wizard of Gore puke his guts out. At the same time he plays a fat white mayor who wants to drive him out of town. With his family of ghouls Michael challenges Michael sort of in a battle of wits, frights and a CGI skeleton that does the moonwalk. For a while I couldn't believe it was MJ in that fat suit. his appearance and voice was different from what I hear on his album. that doubt was cast out as soon as I saw the possessed mayor do Jackson's trade mark moves. Ghosts is one of the few things that would nickname him "wacko jacko" in a positive way rather than what you hear in the papers. Watch this video. MJ RIP
Unbreakable27 Being a Michael Jackson fan since the early 1980's I've always remained interested in anything he does.I think commercially his best days were behind him in the mid-90's, but this is still an excellent video and it far exceeds a lot of the crap that artists put out there today. Most videos are the same thing over and over, the artists with the line dancers in bikinis behind them, YAWN!Michael Jackson comes along and takes the music video to the next level, he puts a storyline into it and killer special effects. When you get done, the only person the guy has failed to outdo is himself.Like him or no, Michael Jackson is still the king of music video.
MichaelJackson25 I really enjoy watching GHOSTS! I think its really imaginative and well done! The dance routines are totally awesome!!!! My favourite part apart from the dancing has to be when Michael turns into the ghoul and says to the mayor (also played by Michael) "Are ya' scared yet?". It's ACE!!!! 10 out of 10 for GHOSTS!!
