GamerTab That was an excellent one.
LouHomey From my favorite movies..
Nayan Gough A great movie, one of the best of this year. There was a bit of confusion at one point in the plot, but nothing serious.
Anoushka Slater While it doesn't offer any answers, it both thrills and makes you think.
Platypuschow Starring the other half of Bill & Ted Alex Winter alongside William Sadler, Brooke Shields, Randy Quaid, Bobcat Goldthwaite, Mr T & a cameo appearance by Morgan Fairchild this bizarre horror comedy is better than it should have been. What I mean by that is it's stupid really really stupid. It tells the story of an actor who sells out and becomes the spokesperson for an evil chemical company. Somewhere along the way he and his friends fall foul of a twisted freakshow owner who doesn't find his freaks, he makes them!Full of slapstick humour this will appeal to people who like the old Airplane (1980) movies. If you don't like a joke then fear not because another will be along in a matter of seconds. The humour is purile but it works very well as one of those take your brain out pieces of entertainment. With "Freaks" like the dog boy, beast boy, the worm, the nose, sock man, and the crazy frogman (Which is a guy in a diving suit) *Badamstish* the creature effects are excellent and deserved the awards they won.If you're seeking something harmless but stupid this right here is for you.The Good:Creature effectsSome jokes really hit the markThe Bad:Painfully dumb in placesThings I Learnt From This Movie:Being half cocked isn't what it's cracked up to beI can't look at Randy Quaid anymore without seeing him humping his wife while she's wearing a Rupert Murdoch maskBobcat Goldthwaite makes everything better
Claudio Carvalho The TV journalist Skye Daley (Brooke Shields) hosts the boastful actor Ricky Coogan (Alex Winter) to tell his recent adventure in Central America. Ricky accepts to promote the toxic fertilizer Zygrot 24 from the E.E.S. Corporation in Santa Flan; in return, he would receive US$ 5,000,000 from the corrupt E.E.S. Chairman Dick Brian (William Sadler). He travels with his best friend Ernie (Michael Stoyanov) to Santa Flan and on the arrival, they meet the gorgeous Julie (Megan Ward), who is protesting against the Zygrot 24. Ricky lures her telling that Ernie and he are protesters and she joins the two friends in a trip to the E.E.S. Soon she discovers the truth but they are in the middle of nowhere and she goes with them. They decide to take a detour to see the Freakland Carnival and they meet the owner Elijah C. Skuggs (Randy Quaid) and his henchmen Toad (Jaime Cardriche). Soon they learn that Skuggs is an insane genius that uses a machine that processes the Zygrot 24 to transform normal people into hideous mutants to work in his sideshow. Ricky is transformed in a monster and Julie and Ernie are merged in conjoined monsters. What will happen to our heroes?"Freaked" is a politically incorrect black comedy with a surrealistic story about a sideshow where the attractions are made by the insane owner of the carnival. This film is still funny and cult after watching many times. It is impossible to recognize the uncredited Keanu Reeves, in the role of Ortiz the Dog Boy. My vote is seven.Title (Brazil): "Freaklândia: O Parque dos Horrores" ("Freakland: The Horror Carnival")
Scars_Remain I don't understand why this film only has a 5.1 rating on this site. I had a great time with it and thought that it would be the general consensus, but I suppose not. Bur regardless of what others thought of it, I felt that was great and very original and definitely entertaining. Not to mention, absolutely hilarious. The special effects in this one are wonderful. I really was amazed by all of the creatures. The story is quirky and fun but the only problem for me was that it didn't seem to be quite long enough. I wanted a bit more than I got. Other than that, it was really funny and enjoyable and I think it'll be one of my favorites in the years to come.I'm a big fan of movies about carnival freaks so naturally, I loved this one. I urge you to give it a chance and vote it up on this site! It deserves a higher rating!
millerd_88 Freaked I must say looked like a movie that I'd typically expect to find in the five dollar bin at Wal-Mart, or any other cheap movie bin. However, Freaked seemed to be along the lines of a movie that I thought might be good... Thus, I gave Freaked a chance, and let me just tell you...it was great. Freaked, is full of lame jokes, puns, and just overall fun filth. I suggest you at least rent Freaked once just so you can say you've seen it. It's a very good movie, and worth every moment of insanity, fun, vulgarity, and putrid filth in it. Think along the lines of Monty Python meets... Bad Brains director Peter Jackson, just without all the gore. Pick up Freaked, watch it, love it, and enjoy it. It's very much a movie you'll either love and appreciate, or just come to totally hate.
