lucygirljohnson-46112 I love my fair share of Hallmark and Lifetime Christmas movies but this by far takes the cake of the worst one I've ever seen. This movie takes tropes and drives them into the ground. The spoiled girl volunteering her time at a soup kitchen (that is a poorly constructed set of plywood) to learn the true meaning of Christmas. A simple plot ruined by the main character straight up stalking the love interest, an annoying child, bad dialogue, and a borderline offensive gay character (of course the movie chose to indicate this gay character with a pink toque and coat). A lot of people will say it's fun to watch something so bad but trust me there are plenty of movies that are actually bearable to sit through that don't reinforce such uncomfortable behavior.
Sober-Friend Shopaholic Crystal's (Amy Acker, Alias) wealthy parents give her an ultimatum: change her irresponsible ways by Christmas or they will cut her off without a cent. With no job or romantic prospects, what's a party girl to do? Fate intervenes when she finds seven year-old Olivia's (Emma Duke) letter to Santa asking for a new wife for her widowed dad Derek (David Haydn-Jones). Crystal tracks them down and vows to win over father and daughter before the fast-approaching holiday deadline. This is a nice little film. It has lots of spirit and charming actors. It has more depth than your average Christmas Movie! When you see it pop up on television WATCH IT. You will enjoy this.
Christmas-Reviewer BEWARE OF BOGUS REVIEWS. SOME REVIEWERS HAVE ONLY ONE REVIEW TO THEIR NAME. NOW WHEN ITS A POSITIVE REVIEW THAT TELLS ME THEY WERE INVOLVED WITH THE MOVIE. IF ITS A NEGATIVE REVIEW THEN THEY MIGHT HAVE A GRUDGE AGAINST THE FILM . NOW I HAVE REVIEWED OVER 200 HOLIDAY FILMS. I HAVE NO AGENDA. I AM HONEST ABOUT THEM. This film took me by surprise. It has heart. The characters are very believable as well as their motivations. Yes it has the "Happy Ending" but the film takes you on a rewarding journey from the start to ending credits! In this film Crystal, a rich party girl, finds a little girl's letter to Santa asking for a new mother, and she vows to win over the father and daughter before the holidays. She is in dire need however to get married. Her rich parents are cutting her off in an effort to help her grow up. Crystal at first see this as a place to live but she never thought she would fall in love.If you can't find this on TV then buy it. Its worth owning! I have bought many Christmas movies and then loan them out to people during the holidays. This is of course one of those films.
womenofbocc This is a family friendly movie all the way around. The socialite daughter, Crystal, is about to be cut off from her parents because she has not found a job or a husband. She meets Derek, and his daughter, Olivia, and feelings begin to develop. This is the quintessential boy meets girl kind of movie, void the sex, profanity, nudity and violence. I recommend this movie to anyone who enjoys sitting with the family watching movies during the Christmas season with a cup of hot chocolate or some eggnog. Sure, the actors are not Bobby DeNiro, Denzel or Sam Jackson, but the movie is cute, the plot is believable, the story is heart warming, and the fact that they took the time to focus on doing good to the homeless in the world makes this movie 9 out of 10 stars for me! Merry Christmas!
