TinsHeadline Touches You
Brendon Jones It’s fine. It's literally the definition of a fine movie. You’ve seen it before, you know every beat and outcome before the characters even do. Only question is how much escapism you’re looking for.
Suman Roberson It's a movie as timely as it is provocative and amazingly, for much of its running time, it is weirdly funny.
Zandra The movie turns out to be a little better than the average. Starting from a romantic formula often seen in the cinema, it ends in the most predictable (and somewhat bland) way.
mrryanscott-15530 It wasn't the best but it at least gives us closure to the TV series that had none until this came out. Ellen Muth is great.
Red_Identity Yes, there are a ton of plot holes in this that make no sense when compared to the series. The lack of Rube really hurts, but the lack of Daisy does even more, simply because instead of just not having her character appear in this, they have another actress play her and her writing is completely uncharacteristic when compared to the show's Daisy. Her development in the show was genius and it's like this film forgot all of her episodes in Season 2 and how much she had progressed. It's pretty much a new character with the name "Daisy" and well, it's awful. Mason is also written in a way that doesn't make much sense. He's a screw-up, but he cared about Rube! Only Roxy and George have some of their show personalities. That whole reaper-Henry Ian Cusick storyline here really sucks. What saves the film a bit is the family stuff. Okay, some plot holes as well, but the George/Reggie stuff is handled adequately, and also sort of gives closure to the show's ongoing storyline.Really, this is a pretty mediocre film, and when compared to the show even worse, but it does have some good moments here and there. Stick with the show, this isn't needed.
pruittusa If you were a fan of "Dead Like Me" the series, I warn you to not watch this crap-fest of a movie. The series was one of my all-time favorite shows, and it is the first time ever (out of two...second was "Pushing Daisies") I ever wrote a letter trying to save a show. I jumped on all the bandwagons & petitions to try to save the show to no avail. When this straight to DVD movie came out I was ecstatic with anticipation & rented it the day of its release. What a disappointment. I actually cried real tears at the end of the movie. Not because anything the movie made me feel but because of what a travesty it had made of the original series. The story line didn't match-up to the series, the originality and uniqueness of the original series were gone, the acting was phoned in, & the replacement characters were a joke. I wanted to write a review about this train-wreck of a movie as soon as I saw it, but didn't. It wasn't until recently when I had turned a friend onto the show (I own both seasons) who grew to love the series as much as myself wanted to watch the movie. I warned him against it & even watched with him for the second time to see, if I was being too critical. Analysis: I wasn't. This movie will taint the wonderful experience of the series.
Wesley Whisnant I have to say it was a decent movie, one thing stuck out like a sore thumb to me. Sarah Wynter's Daisy Adair. She lacked the depth Laura Harris gave her, the frivolity was out on to disguise the thing which she longed for most, revealed in Season One was to be loved. She may not have been a great morale center when it came down to her sexual escapades, which I think were mainly more talk than anything, but she did have a quality that Laura Harris only brought to the character, her ability to go along with Mason's half-baked ideas but to also being able to guide him away from any real danger before they both go into any real trouble.Overall the characters were represented ideally for a film, but the plot was to be desired a little.
