BeSummers Funny, strange, confrontational and subversive, this is one of the most interesting experiences you'll have at the cinema this year.
Hayden Kane There is, somehow, an interesting story here, as well as some good acting. There are also some good scenes
Ariella Broughton It is neither dumb nor smart enough to be fun, and spends way too much time with its boring human characters.
writingferret The summary pretty much sums it up. The movie watches like a 12 year old boy took some notes from a few recent action movies, then proceeded to create a female Jason Bourne, only without any explanation as to how she gained the ability to fight that way. Literally the only nod to any sort of fighting cred from her uncle, guardian, and stated trainer, was his ability to beat the crap out of someone tied to a chair, and to shoot random cars in front of a school in broad daylight and walk calmly away after the cops had already arrived, for some reason. Then it's like, fast forward, she's a ninja/special ops/Batgirl I guess, but she only goes after Colombian crime lords. No segue. No explanation. Uh. You can literally watch the trailer for this movie and see all of the actual story that is in the movie. All that said, the cinematography is pretty good, the soundtrack is good, and the fight scenes are decently done, although they are basically carbon copies of various Jason Bourne scenes.
cinemajesty Movie Review: "Colombiana" (2011)Sending one of the busiest actresses in Hollywood with three currently active contracts for upcoming movie sequels starting from Paramount Pictures' "Star Trek", 20th Century Fox "Avatar" and Marvel's "Guardians of The Galaxy", Zoe Saldana directed by Olivier Megaton in a script by "Taken" (2008) writers Luc Besson & Robert Mark Kamen comes this senseless revenge action movie, which might have functioned as motion picture entertainment, if the cinematography would have benefited from the explosion-double-cut and mainly pointing-off-the-action editorial by editor Camille Delamarre under staggering at time wooden acting operations, which does not let an obligatory misplaced love story sparking for the leading character of Cataleya, portrayed and carried by Zoe Saldana, who's cold character lost her parents to a vicious drug baron, seeking to balance the bill with at least a well-executed towel to belt fist-on-fist fight scene, confronting the character of Marco, performed by some hostility spreading actor Jordi Mollá, in a villa bath room location that I am at ease that another 95 Minute action movie (excl. end credits) from Producer Luc Besson's EuroCorp entity had not been entirely wasted.© 2017 Felix Alexander Dausend (Cinemajesty Entertainments LLC)
tr91 Colombiana - A young girl witnesses her parents getting killed and is determined for revenge in the future. The plot is simple and very easy to follow. There is a lot of tense music throughout which creates a good atmosphere. The action is extremely fast paced and done in an over the top style, there's a lot of fighting/killing mainly at the finale, some of which is very brutal. The dogs in the van is a particularly memorable scene. The story develops at a nice pace and the film overall offers a bit more than I expected. I as the viewer really liked Cataleya as we saw her develop a lot throughout the film. Amandla Stenberg is fantastic as young Cataleya. The film really heats up when we are taken 15 years on and Zoe Saldana takes over. She is absolutely superb in the role of the stone cold assassin out for revenge. She's got the looks, moves & style. If you don't take the film too seriously then it will be enjoyable. Overall Colombiana kept me entertained from start to finish. A very good action flick. 8/10
cucme007 OK i've read all of it(the critics). Fact is if you keep your mind out and fill the gaps using your mind it's one of the best movies ever. I can watch it over and over again. Now as I'm required 10 lines of text by "IMDb" i must add some more. If you haven't seen it I recommend it. If you did and you disagree same as above Now it's still not 10 lines What to do about it? The flick is great no doubt about it. 10 lines of text, this might be my first and very last review, thanks to IMDb. Now that I'm adding nonsense and nonsense, but believe me, this flick is wort a watch. Now that one that one took me ages just to type the it and those "yes you can't blame" still disagree with my submission?!!!!? WthF
