Pluskylang Great Film overall
XoWizIama Excellent adaptation.
Frances Chung Through painfully honest and emotional moments, the movie becomes irresistibly relatable
Nicole I enjoyed watching this film and would recommend other to give it a try , (as I am) but this movie, although enjoyable to watch due to the better than average acting fails to add anything new to its storyline that is all too familiar to these types of movies.
yowilwasup A starring vehicle for someone who calls himself Johnny Strong. (Note: His next vehicle may be a a Uber.) Classic Zombie nonsense fun. There a few plot holes and of course convenient "missed shots" from the guy who never misses. And the occasional ignoring of the movies own zombie rules. This "fast zombie" shoot'em up has zombies that burn up in the sunlight faster than the supporting actors do. Female lead Chelsea Edmundson is not on screen enough. She has that right combination of pretty and tough. There's a good supporting cast including Lance "workaholic" Heneiksen. And Hakeem Kae-Kazim (Black Sails and Hotel Rwanda). I forgot how many stars I gave this flick. In the time it took me write this review I have forgotten much of the movie.... Mmmm maybe that's why they keep making more Zombie movies.
mmcbride-56092 The entire thing was predictable... The acting was just bad. I love the films but this should not have been made. Watched it on Starz...
j_ack I started watching this at 1am. I watched 5 minutes and it cut to a break. My thoughts were that it had potential to be a classic. As I do with all films I checked IMDb for it's score and I was amazed at the low rating.I decided to go with my gut instinct and stayed watching until about 3.30am I believe. This film really was gripping and super intense If you love action then this is a must see. This is one of the best films I've ever watched and one I'll never forget. Johnny Strong played his part to perfection. Legendary performance from him.If the subject is to your liking then it's a must see. Gripping and extremely intense. I have never watched a film twice in my life, but this is a film I will simply have to see again and that I simply have to see again soon. When I have the opportunity and feel in the mood I will have to watch it again. A truly epic film. Fantastic.
popovichh Solid horror/survival flick. The action is fast-paced but also balanced by eerie calm before the storm, the cinematography is well done and not over the top (no crazy camera jerking or 200fps shots where you can't see what's actually going on on the screen), the scenery is excellent 'cept a few minor kinks here and there and the music is very nice too.I guess the real minus would be the lack of character development, lack of backstory and no real sense of scarcity or lack of resources, judging by the fact they seem to have loads of ammo and fuel and somehow they manage to find pretty much brand new cars and a bus after 3 years of apocalypse. Costume design is kinda amateurish and doesn't fit the scenery since everything they wear is basically brand new without a scratch or tear (with obligatory black motorcycle shades). There's also this gang of marauders slapped onto the story as if they felt zombie-vampires were not enough to hold the suspense, which I find unnecessary and it kinda spoils the narrative. However I like the fact that characters themselves are hardened by and fully aware of the gravity of the situation, there are no sob stories or soap opera romances and everyone pretty much knows it's about survival first and everything else later, so they stick together and do their part. Acting is decent, cast is amazing (but I might be biased since Lance Henriksen and Hakeem Kae-Kazim are in my eyes great in every movie; there are also a few to me new appearances which I found enjoyable) and overall the feel of the movie is pretty dreadful which is exactly how you want to feel when watching a post-apocalyptic survival movie.I have a feeling there are great movies yet to come from William Kaufman, especially if he gets a solid budget to work with.Overall score: 6.5/10 (pretty damn good for today's standards, definitely worth the watch for apocalypse fans)P.S. I don't feel I can give it 7/10 so unfortunately I have to go with 6 since the scoring system is kinda unforgiving.
