I don't feel for any of the characters cos i am so confused about the story , if there's one. There's no psychological drama, just gore and more gore. Reminds me of the hostel series, which is funnier and more interesting.Don't trust all the positive reviews. 0/10

tomiltin-180-986418 Not sure if I'd watched this movie, unless I saw Tarantino's 'best movie of the year' comment. I believe a lot of people fell for that too. To some extent it is probably true. This is a masterpiece in terms of how a story should be told. The rhythm of it - how it gets more and more twisted and brutal - just makes you desperate to know, what's gonna happen in the end. I simply could not turn it off, though few times I reeeally wanted to (some scenes are too violent). But. The general storyline has a few serious drawbacks. I'd personally suggest not to focus on them, in order not to ruin the impression of what's really brilliant here.Definitely not an average viewer show, but a real gem for a movie fanatic (like Tarantino).

MattBirk Though Quentin Tarantino might have been exaggerating the movie a bit by calling it the best movie of 2013, it would probably land somewhere in the top 15. The movie has both violence & gore, but what really hits home is the psychological terror and the mystery of the identity of the killer. The slow details of the murder cases really clash with the motives of those involved and really makes you take a side with who you think is right and wrong. Though the movie doesn't reinvent the serial killer genre, but it does stand tall with its amazing cinematography and black humor. One of the better torture porns of recent memory (though not terribly graphic). donwc1996 This film is not for everyone. It takes one of the most disgusting subjects imaginable and turns it into a twisted comedy. You're laughing your head off while castigating yourself for ignoring the dark subject matter which reeks of absolute depravity. But it is funny and you can't help yourself. And so you laugh. But the film keeps you at the edge of your seat gnawing on your knuckles. The male lead is one of my very favorite actors in film today and once I discovered him which was not that long ago I decided to get every film he made and this one came up in my research. No matter how unpalatable the subject matter of this film this actor shines like the star he is. You just cannot take your eyes off him. And that is true star power.
