Synopsis

Steve, a young professional snowboarder, ruins a high-paying photo shoot by playing a silly prank. He, his girlfriend Branka and fellow snowboarder Joschi are left behind on the mountain. They seek shelter in an après-ski tavern that is hosting an all-night party. Things go from bad to worse when a scientific experiment unleashes an epidemic of zombies and mutant wildlife. This is mostly lost on the local drunkards, as they are not always easy to distinguish from zombies themselves. But Steve, Branka and Joschi have to find a way to survive this hellish night.

Lawbolisted Powerful
Aneesa Wardle The story, direction, characters, and writing/dialogue is akin to taking a tranquilizer shot to the neck, but everything else was so well done.
Tymon Sutton The acting is good, and the firecracker script has some excellent ideas.
Fleur Actress is magnificent and exudes a hypnotic screen presence in this affecting drama.
bkdow I wish I had not wasted my time. The CGI of animals is awful and the acting is forced.
julianrhm-32597 "Attack of the Lederhosen Zombies" is the kind of movie you'd expect to spawn a line of sequels and a devoted cult following. Horror fans will watch "Lederhosen Zombies" and appreciate director Dominik Hartl and crew's stylish use of practical effects while casual movie-goers will sit back, bring out the popcorn, and have fun with this jam-packed, new- age horror flick. The film opens against a backdrop of the Austrian Alps with pro-snowboarder Steve (played by baby-faced Laurie Calvert) shredding downhill, hoping to score the deal of a lifetime. When his antics get him into trouble, he loses a sponsor and a way out of the mountains. Steve, girlfriend Branka (Gabriela Marcinkova), and buddy Josh (Oscar Giese) seek assistance at a nearby pub but discover their only way out is, of course, temporarily unavailable until further notice. The film then spirals deeper, darker, and bloodier down a neon scape of carnage as if straight out of a late 80s horror flick.Like a horror flick out of the late 80s, there are also laughs and humor interspersed throughout. It's 2017, though, and the humor here is self-aware and ironic. "Lederhosen Zombies" takes jabs at the classic horror/zombie film formula while telling its own story. It's not as satirical as, say, the "Scary Movie" franchise, but it's in the same vein. If you're looking for new horror films to sink your teeth into, watch "Attack of the Lederhosen Zombies" on your next Friday night movie binge.
L P One of the other reviews here mentions being able to enjoy 'Attack of the Lederhosen Zombies' ('AotLZ') if you don't take it too seriously, and that's a good rule here; unfortunately, I may have taken my viewing pleasure of this horror/zombie comedy, a little seriously. I likely should not have held high expectations and anticipation for this, because mostly I was left wanting, though it had some decidedly fine and clever elements...I can't trash it, because it's good, you can tell it was crafted as a labor of love, and it definitely had it's moments while being mostly fun. The production team here get high marks, as it had first rate production values all around, looking and sounding great! Kudos to casting as well...but ultimately, I'm left with the sentiment of a wasted opportunity, as parts of the script, pacing, and direction didn't step up to the rest of the production's level and help this film live up to it's brilliant potential...If you're a glutton for the punishment that comes with being a fan of Horror/Zombie comedies, then give this a shot, and you may be pleasantly rewarded. Hopefully, 'Team Hartl' get another crack at a Zombie feature, because the potential is there. I'll also give 'AotLZ' a few more viewings, and hope it gets better with age...In the meantime, if you liked 'AotLZ', and Horror/Zombie humour (e.g., 'Shaun of the Dead') is what you crave, consider these: 'Train to Busan/Busanhaeng' (2016), 'Evil Dead' (1981), 'Zombieland' (2009), 'Dead Snow/Død snø' (2009), 'Juan of the Dead/Juan de los metros' (2011), 'Slither' (2006), 'Undead or Alive: a Zombedy' (2007), 'Bio-Zombie/Sun faa sau si' (1998), 'Shanks' (1974), 'Chrome Hearts/Chopper Chicks in Zombietown' (1989), 'Scouts Guide to the Zombie Apocalypse' (2015), 'King of the Zombies' (1941), 'Cockneys vs Zombies' (2012), 'Zombeavers' (2014), 'Night of the Living Deb' (2015), 'Kill Zombie/Zombibi' (2012), 'Cabin in the Woods' (2012) & 'Black Sheep' (2006)… For Horror fun/humor, also consider: 'Tucker and Dale vs Evil' (2010), 'Eight Legged Freaks' (2002), 'Host/Gwoemul' (2006), 'Cold Prey/Fritt Vilt' (2006), 'Housebound' (2014), 'Piranha' (2010), 'Tremors' (1990), 'Snakes on a Plane' (2006), 'Ghost Team' (2016), 'Las brujas de Zugarramurdi' (2013), 'Grabbers' (2012), 'Black Christmas' (2006), 'Rare Exports' (2010), 'Trolljegeren' (2010), 'Gremlins' (1984), 'Fright Night' (1985), ' Attack of the Killer Tomatoes!' (1978) & 'Big Ass Spider' (2013), among others
Sean Rivera Attack of the Lederhosen Zombies is an exhilarating, fast paced gore-fest that plays with the troupes of a classic genre and elevates them to delightful, satirical bliss. The classic set up all horror fans love are here! The director playfully twists them into an entertaining, high wire act of comedy-horror that real horror film fans will surely appreciate. The film is about a cocky ski star who must step up to do what's right when a zombie outbreak begins in the Austrian Alps (no thanks to a well meaning Austrian scientist) and simultaneously tries to win his strong willed girlfriend back. Director Dominik Hartl wisely takes advantage of his snowy locations with the assistance of his cinematographer, using anamorphic lenses to add gorgeous scope to his setting with care that aspiring cinematographers will surely take copious notes of. The actors have A-game with their willingness to take every situation their characters experience with levity and appreciated focus. This film has some surprising delights that range from classical music appreciating dancing zombies (reminiscent of Polanski's The Fearless Vampire Killers) to the chic and sleek snowboarding of Steve (Laurie Calvert) that will having you cheering for the heroes and excited for the winter olympics!I thought this was a great addition to my ever expanding film collection. Any REAL fans of cult and retro horror films looking for something new and fresh with incredible visuals, hilarious fast paced action, and of course, hungry Austrian zombies should definitely check this one out. It's killer!
