Synopsis

That infamous whale is bigger, badder and a whole lot stronger in this sci-fi reimagining of Herman Melville’s classic tale of the battle between man, sea and sea creature starring “Xena” alum Rene O’Connor as the (traditionally male) narrator. But the boat — now a high-tech submarine — is also bigger, and Capt. Ahab is as determined as ever to settle the score and take down the mighty sea mammal that maimed him.

Scanialara You won't be disappointed!
Smartorhypo Highly Overrated But Still Good
Chirphymium It's entirely possible that sending the audience out feeling lousy was intentional
Jonah Abbott There's no way I can possibly love it entirely but I just think its ridiculously bad, but enjoyable at the same time.
Leofwine_draca 2010: MOBY DICK is another debacle from The Asylum, posited as a kind of science fiction remake of the 19th century Herman Melville classic. As a film it's a completely worthless production, lacking the required norms of plotting, pacing, and characterisation, and coming across as completely laughable when it doesn't intend to be.Old-timer Barry Bostwick plays the Captain Ahab role, obsessed with killing the gigantic whale responsible for the loss of his leg. He's given support by the surprisingly good Renee O'Connor, previously of XENA: WARRIOR PRINCESS fame; she's far too good to be in this type of movie. Elsewhere, the viewer is treated to endlessly poor CGI effects which are so bad as to be completely ridiculous, and a general lack of coherence which makes this a tough watch.
sushant-bhargav It seems there was no director in the movie, damn cheesy dialogs with clueless timings, 1. Way too much cliché e.g. the bad Navy/ Army officer, hot helpless female who is there just for consultation purpose but consults nothing. 2. There was no story line, mostly it's just goes from one cut to another without linking any of the previous cut. 3.Holes in Story: There were too many holes in story and depiction of characters, like two Navy officers who portray very high ranking Individuals are Disabled; & this is just one thing I mentioned there are million others in movie itself.overall this movie was a traumatic experience for me. I can't give you notes on reviews because this movie is a big hollow. It's practically any other animal chasing movie, but with a lots and lots of holes in acting, direction, CGI, & zero story. I strongly suggest to avoid this movie.
James28826 Depressng that people got paid for this movie. It's one the actors, writers, directors, production crew, script writers, and everyone and anyone who had anything to do with this movie, if you can call it a movie, should save for their friends and families to watch because someone ought to have the courage to tell them its really really really bad.Score of one out of ten is too generous, considering it was 2010 and not 1910 that this movie was made.I rather watch the BLOB or Killer Tomatoes any day.WTF were they thinking?
mikemdp Ask yourself folks: A direct-to-video movie about Moby Dick starring Barry "I played George Washington once but now I'll do anything to pay for my Malibu beach house" Bostwick and Renee "I'm not lesbian but I'll let you believe I'm lesbian if it will pay for my collagen injections" O'Connor, and you're expecting Cannes Film Festival quality here? Gimme a break. It is what it is, and it's not as putrid as all the other reviewers here would have you believe. I bought it for five bucks and I'm damn glad I did.Hey, you know what? This is a bad movie. But so was "Journey to the Center of the Earth" with Brendan "I need to fire my manager NOW" Fraser, and I shelled a helluva lot more than five bucks to see that puddle of cinematic 3D puke."2010: Moby Dick" is as entertaining a bad movie as bad movies get. If you compare Barry Bostwick in this to Raymond Burr in the first "Godzilla" movie, and Renee O'Connor to, well, I guess anything Jennifer Aniston has done, including the original "Leprechaun" movie, you're on the right wavelength for "2010: Moby Dick" and you'll enjoy it just fine.It seems everyone else here would compare "Citizen Kane" to any random "Chucky" movie and that's just not fair.Bad movies need love too! Five stars from me and here's hoping Bostwick pops up in another Asylum flick soon.
