Karry Best movie of this year hands down!
Wordiezett So much average
GazerRise Fantastic!
Nayan Gough A great movie, one of the best of this year. There was a bit of confusion at one point in the plot, but nothing serious.
funluvver Because of the ongoing story, perhaps this show is best binge-watched on Netflix than waiting week-over-week for next episodes as many critics back in 2014 and 2015 surely did, but I was enthralled from about the 3rd episode until the end. I finished all the seasons in short order and I am quite sad there are no more.I understand shows like this are never going to be perfectly accurate - after all, they want to make certain aspects more entertaining for viewers. But the whole idea of this story is thrilling to me, and it caused me to research the actual facts of basically every character in the show. The show strengthened the characters as the seasons went along and none of them really fell apart, which can be common when you have this many characters. The writing was superb and equally matched by the collective acting and their interpretations of the characters. The final episode did very well to wrap this up and provide closure to the viewer on all characters, which many series do not. This show as a 10 for me.
keelhaul-80856 While this show may have historical inaccuracies(as mentioned by many), on an entertainment level, it really delivers, especially in a realm that few dare to trod. I loved reading about the Revolution and colonial period as a kid, but you rarely see a show about it on TV. I honestly thought this show would be boring, when I saw ads revealing it to be focused on spies instead of soldiers. Well, I decided to check it out anyway. After a slow start, it began to grow on me, and I thought it did an excellent job of building a slow-burning tension, and tying up ends that many other shows don't have the writing to solve. There is, indeed, some following of the army and military exploits, battles, etc. and definitely plenty of executions, ambushes, and sinister subterfuge. The British officers are cool characters, because, while Simcoe is a devilish brute, he still has moments of caring, and the Major comes across as truly realistic and charming. This isn't like many shows, where all enemy soldiers and diplomats are just cardboard cutouts of evil. Rogers is interesting too, and has good motivations, and I have always liked the actor playing him. Abraham and his father are interesting to watch as well, and the reasoning behind men like Benedict Arnold is great to explore, even if the show isn't always accurate. If you want absolute realism and historical truth, watch a documentary(which I love doing as well). If you want a spy thriller with (still informative and basically on point) action and intrigue, watch TURN. Basically, this show is like Braveheart or Gladiator on many levels. It is historical fiction and fantasy at times, but some of the best film-making and writing you can find. Well-worth a watch.
mawsis I have watched TURN from the beginning and I am sorry to see it end. It is a fabulous show on the history of our nation and the people who gave of themselves to create the USA. I would like to thank AMC for sticking with the wonderful show to the end and Alexander Rose for writing such a tremendous book from where the show is adapted.School children of all ages should watch this series.
karen_oreilly This is why this is doomed to be canceled by AMC. They want cheap content they can churn out for a year or two until it becomes too expensive for their cheap budgets. Once a series is a success, Actors demand higher salaries cutting into AMC's profit margin. This is why they will write off the 2017 season so they can kill off characters, end the war and be done with this good series and onto a new one with a lot less production expenses, salaries and overhead. They can churn out more crap fodder most of us won't watch...other than Better Call Saul and The Son, which look promising. The Son is a bit clichéd though.
