Geraldine The story, direction, characters, and writing/dialogue is akin to taking a tranquilizer shot to the neck, but everything else was so well done.

Jonathan Whitehead I do tend to agree with most of the reviews on here, but I would say that they only hold true for the first couple of seasons. I think I probably watched season one and two and remember the cringe worthy lack of chemistry between the presenters and the complete copy and paste job from the UK Top Gear, but what can you expect so early on? Now watching season five and I have to say it is a much better show, yes each episode is now just one long special/expedition, but I really like it. Yes it may be incredibly scripted and impossible to believe at points, but so is the UK show and it doesn't take away from the fantastic places they drive their high performance vehicles through! One problem with removing celebrity guests, fast lap time etc is that if you don't really enjoy the subject matter (for example drag racing, which I have zero interest in) there is nothing to give you a small break from it. Although it is many times better in its current iteration I hope they bring back something from the UK series.

Mackenzie Cornell I have enjoyed watching this show for the past 5 years. It's great to see America put some points on the board for the car industry. I love the camera shots and the producers' ability to portray an car like it's the Queen of Sheba simply from a camera angle or edit, and much of the entertainment would be nothing with out the three guys you would never expect to get along so well. This show did America justice. I have enjoyed watching these guys bring some comedy to my life and allow me to learn so much more about the automotive industry. It's easy to say that it sucks when you're comparing it to another show based in an entirely different country. This show is great because it's not about being better than the British version, it's about bringing that same attitude about cars to America, but in an American way. Tanner, Rutledge, and Adam are fantastically hilarious and knowledgeable about cars. It's helpful to see these guys have such different skill levels but also have such a confidence in what they know about cars. They are an inspiration to all of us.

mercedesx-142-167025 Honestly this show is an embarrassment. Nothing works well. The "personalities" are beyond watchable, stupidity at its pinnacle. The people on TopGear UK actually know something about cars, have a passion for cars. These twits are typical reality TV know nothings. All of it is quite painful to watch, please end it. it is a national disgrace, an abomination. Yes it is that bad. Nothing unique or original about this show, I wanted so much to like this show when I heard it was in the works, now I wish they had never attempted a US version. You want a good show? Hire people that are credible! This crap sucks. American audiences are not this stupid to accept this swill.

Sam Taler I wait to see this show week after week , its funny , great setup and not like the UK virgin with dull old men. and FYI ,for the some of thereviews who like the " original" show , dot put your negative comments, just change the channel to BBC and watch your creepy old show. US version makes its entrance and I'll obviously give it the benefit of the doubt. Season 1 wasn't very enjoyable, because the hosts don't have that instantly-loved chemistry of the UK guys plus they can't pull off the UK concept of reviews and the whole interview thing. if you like cars , comedy and good value production , this is the show for you.
