Livestonth I am only giving this movie a 1 for the great cast, though I can't imagine what any of them were thinking. This movie was horrible
Gutsycurene Fanciful, disturbing, and wildly original, it announces the arrival of a fresh, bold voice in American cinema.
StyleSk8r At first rather annoying in its heavy emphasis on reenactments, this movie ultimately proves fascinating, simply because the complicated, highly dramatic tale it tells still almost defies belief.
Portia Hilton Blistering performances.
erickjansenius I think it is the best show of Disney. Intelligent, funny, Dramatic!!!! Good Langdale.. I sorry they canceled it... But I think that the biggest entertainments companies don't like create more so intelligent shows... And They thinks that the best is import stupid and 100% commercial anime from Japanase. Please!!!!! The American cartoonists have brain for create good cartoons... no trash for sell and sell stupid Bukubolls.. Pokebools... Yugicardsssss... Anothers best shows that I love are: - The Angry Beavers ( nick) - the Fairly OddParents (nick) - SpongeBob squarePants ( nick) - Kim Possible ( Disney) - Peper Ann ( Disney) - Danny Phantom ( nick) the most Intelligents and The most funniers
kelari I love The Weekenders, and I also love Recess. And I'm 18. But the point of my comment is addressing the fact that some people keep saying that the characters are "stereotypical." I can't argue with that, but I don't see it as a flaw - in cartooning, it's hard (although not impossible) to portray people/places without using stereotypes. That's what makes good cartoons so accessible to such a wide range of ages and people. The episodes are so short - just think of how hard it would be to portray a complex, non-stereotypical character (let alone four at one time) in 15 minutes! Because of the characters' "stereotypical" personalities, we can connect to them extremely easily.I adore this cartoon, Tino is my favorite character (I love Jason Marsden's voice acting). It's awesome that the characters change clothing without losing their "look." The one thing that puzzles me is where the group gets all the money for pizza, Chug-a-Freezes, and chili-cheese fries every weekend – I didn't have that much cash, nor would my parents give it to me, when I was in middle school! That said, I'm not sure how people can love this and hate Recess – surely they understand that Recess is portraying fourth graders, while The Weekenders is portraying middle-schoolers! All that aside, I think the animation is fun, the plot lines hilarious, and I would definitely recommend this for anyone of any age who is young at heart.
Glozone When I first saw this show on One Saturday Morning, I thought it was just another Recess or Pepper Ann, the episodes were funny, but over-all not that exciting. Yet as I began to watch it on Disney Channel recently I realized how great the show is. The voice-acting, (Jason Marsden and Phil LaMarr as Tino and Carver in particular) is fantastic and the characters (with the possible exception of Tish) are extremely three-dimensional. The characters are more mature than the characters in most Disney cartoons, and the show is extremely funny. You can all kinds of humor with Tino's bitter sarcasm, Carver's over-the-top melodrama, Lor's random idiocy and Tish's ridiculously large vocabularly. They missed the mark by making Tish the quintessential "smart one" but other than that no one had a blatant stereotype. Tino's paranoid wise-ass is the show-stealer and makes quite a good main character, and the great character of "Tino's Mom" dares to make a non-corny parent in a cartoon (a huge rarity.) All in all, this is better than most sitcoms on TV, which is more than I could say for most cartoons (especially Disney ones.)
Loz8 It has been amusing reading people comments on this show. I found them to be quite varied and critical, which i honestly didn't expect.I love this show. However, i am slightly biased, as the only reason i watched it is because of Jason Marsden a.k.a Tino Tonitini. Now that i have watched it i can say that i would watch it even without Jason, without lying. Sometimes it can be a bit sickly sweet, but i think this is balanced out beautifully by the jokes and the characters' undesirable traits. Yes, Tino, Carver, Tish and Lor do seem to be too smart alec(y) and knowledgeable to be 12, yet my 11 yr old brother loves the show, and often laughs at jokes that i would never have thought he'd get. I think sometimes us older people don't remember what it's like to be a kid, and what we found amusing. It's okay to look back and say something is trite and conceited. But as a kid... do you really care? Who were the audiences of 'Full House' do you think? I believe "The Weekenders" is good for kids because it does have all those 'moral' little stories. P.S...i love Tino's ending word at the end of each episode. It's often where his funniest jokes are. And also... can IMDb change "Tino Tontini" to "Tino Tonitini" please???
